Maybe it was the guy's AR bullets. I know that you can shoot nades out of the air with things like a sniper, so maybe his AR shots hit the nade as it left your hand, thus interrupting the upwards velocity of the nade and causing it to drop much faster than it normally would have.

I think the jetpack guy affected how you threw that sticky.

He fell down pretty quickly, and the aim assist that is on Halo thought he would keep going because he was going quite fast, so it took over and made the nade go more down in the ground than straight forward, for a "bigger" chance of hitting the falling person.

Example: on Construct, if you throw stickys in the lift and a player goes up right as you throw it, your aim assist might catch on and throw the grenade higher than normal.
