Shogum is easy, but now I got to do a quest involving killing him, I have like 50 grottos done, and I have no idea which one has him.

i found shogum inside a granite tunnel of ? level 12. it was like hell, in there, lava everywhere. he used kabam, i got all of my coup de grace, but he killed me before i could use choir of angels. :(

i play DQ IX for fun, but i never go into such detail as this. seriosly - this si way too complicated, its only a game. i defeated this guy with a team of level 36's.

Gah I hated this guy. Took me a lot of time to beat him, but then again, my team is meh.

Mage lv. 45

The problem is, I'm stupid, because I didn't bother training them on other vocations, so if I wanna make a better team, that means grinding my ass off. -_-

@guywithminigun Eh, the minstrel is sub-par when it comes to boss killing. Switch him to warrior (trunks) or a gladiator (Emilio)

@guywithminigun With warrior, I suggest a pivotal character by using him for both offense and defense. train him in gladiator and paladin. Level doesn't matter a huge deal as when you have a billion+ defense bonuses on him, a warrior is invincible. Just remember to watch his HP cause it isn't as high as the paladins, but his defense is incredible.

Shogum is probably my fav grotto boss so far. I just got to him in my game, but still, prety badass. Why is his slime steed bearded though?

Killing Liquid Metal Slimes. There is a good respawn of A LOT OF Slimes near Angel Falls, but you need the Starflight Express to get there. How to get the Starflight Express? Google it.

I really enjoyed the first couple of dungeon bosses that used Kaboom and those spells because my Paladin just mirrored and attracted all of hte htis and reflected thousands of damage every fight, whilst my others kept attacking like crazy.

But when i got tot he metal robot dungeon boss i got raped, big time, im guessing because i absorbed all of the melee attacks and had my pally die, i didn't try that again i tell you..

Just fought this boss today as part of the bonus quest with Erinn's mom's gift. A bit harder than I expected (only fought Equinox until this fight) but I overcame him in the end.

Upgrade shop in stornway post game for 14500 for the falcon blade.

If you mix it with a metorite bracer it goes uber.

I was fighting this boss once, and well, he summoned a king cureslime and it used omniheal had healed 976 hp of the shogum I was thinking to myself "dam it" and well my characters died from this guy, I think I should level up my preist more... so it learns better healing spells.

@ArmaAugis I beat the entire story withou the guide. The miracle sword is incredibly easy to get. Don't try to tell me that you haven't used the internet once. Also, you've barely any equipment if your not using a guide. Using a guide doesn't make you a noob in games like these it expands your horizons.

Actually, Shogum does know Disruptive Wave. He used it on me when I decided to try the Uber Falcon Blade + Falcon Slash + 100 tension combo on my Gladiator. I had to raise her tension twice!
