Dude i bought a TDS meter for my fish aquarium and to test the tap water and found my tap water TDS is around 200. My Reverse osmosis unit brought it down to around 75. If zero water goes down to 000, that would be super impressive. I'm in Los Angeles, CA and not even in the city part.
@PancakePlease I'm happy to see you trying to take good care of those fish. Looks like disappointing results for reverse osmosis, though. I don't understand that. Peace.
@field16 Reverse osmosis would be cheaper because the filters last much longer. The lower the the tds the longer the zero water filter last (my little town has a tds of 80). My 100 gallon fish tank just got filled with zero water and in the tank is all zero's. I also tested the chlorine, that's why I personally tried zero water was to have chlorine free drinking water, before 1.5 ppm after 0. Definitely worth the money
Only a suggestion because I have to drink bottled water, lol. I don't want to, because of the benzene in the plastic bottle itself, and the dubious contents of the water, also the fact that it gives the big corporations a demand that they feel a need to supply at totally outrageous prices, what is next? Are they gonna tax or sell us air to breathe? It is already contaminated in some cities enough to merit using products to clean it up, like air purifiers that cost too much too.
@TheDarkeJ If you use a filtering system like this, you would not need the bottled water with plastic flavoring. :-) The water from this filter tastes clean to me. I have been using it every day.
I don't like the idea of corporations controlling our water and air, either. God provides the water and air and he intended for it to be free. The air here is still clean and fresh. I thank God for that often. I don't like the dirty cities. They need more plants.
@marcusrules11 I want my water to be as close to distilled as possible. Brita filters do not filter out Fluoride, so I would not purchase the Brita brand.
Interesting. When I did research to find the best pitcher, I couldn't find much good info. Only that PUR probably filters better than other common filters. I'd like to see what the meter shows for other water filters, I suspect that it may be designed to show 0 for zero pitchers
@logos2600 Yeah, just because the meter says 000 does not convince me that it is pure water or free of contaminants. The water does taste very clean. (It has no flavor.) I would like to do some more testing on this pitcher filter system, if I find some time. Thanks for your comments.
I wonder what your meter would say when you test bottled water like Smart water or Poland Spring. Also how does it compare to other filters? 49 for tap water doesn't sound too cool. You better stock up on this filter if your tap water is kind of strange. It'll be interesting if I can test the water here in NY with that tester.
@wtam69 Interesting questions. I wish I could send you the tester so you could measure your water. But I would hate to ask you to return it when you are done. There is a website that shows some measurements for your area, including NY. testyourtap (dot) com
@logos2600 That is probably true. We are so paranoia that we drink mostly bottled water. The problem with filters are the good ones are usually kind of slow.
How long does each filter last? Right now Im using a brita, and it works fine. But after seeing the commercial, i want a zero water pitcher.

@jennywu73 For my usage, each filter lasts about 3 months.

Dude, you should be salty. I just bought the 23-cup dispenser for $33 on Amazon.

turbidity isn't the problem...it's the THM's that are bad, and other carcinogens...

Cool review, test some bottled water with the lil tester, then run the tested water through their filter.!

@TheDarkeJ Thanks. Why do you suggest that experiment? I don't buy bottled water.

@wtam69 I've heard NY tap water is really good, or at least tastes really good.

@wtam69 if its possible maybe you could buy another pitcher so the slowness wouldn't be a problem
