i had a 72 mercury montego when i was 16 that had a 429 police interceptor in it and let me tell you that thing would tote the mail son. this video takes me back to my youth and the crazy stuff just like this that we used to do(almost 25 years ago!)
LOL I have a '73 LTD Brougham with a 400... oh man did we leave some rubber... looked like someone took a big old black sharpie and wrote on that road... LOL
@jakesaintsrow123 After the blue Charger I had a 1975 Duster. It was a slant-6, more show than go, so it didn't stop at 'Burn-Out Hill' for reverse 180's or burnouts :)
@StuntingSteamMcQueen Haha AWESOME! I Still see those around Awesome looking cars, slant 6 was Not very fast but dead reliable in those As All slant six's were!...Do you remember the 1985 Buick skylark? I Have one in mint Condition , It's baby blue with a blue vinyl top I Love the car It's my first car!
Nice LTD, I got a couple of 1989 LTD crown victoria!Checks it out on my profile or by searching LTD crown victoria donuts... or even "lesfoudelaha" you'll see other video of me on that channel
I have a '77 wagon now with a 400 and I had a '78 Thunderbird, '76 LTD 4-door, and two '79 Lincoln Town Cars.....the 400 cids are tough motors...and I have never gotton stuck in the snow with any of them. The '76 LTD saw me through Rocky Mt. snow and the '78 Thunderbird dealt with the Chicago Jan/Feb snow while I was in HS...but my moms FWD Focas got stuck all the time....
Hey i got a '74 LTD as well [mine's a 2 door] but when I do a burnout, or when I'm stuck in the snow, only 1 tire works. What's with that? Is something broken or what?
it may spin, depending on the axles rack and pinion,it may grab. and the front tires do the steering? thus, do something.. do be carefull, i did a long burout-have it on vid, will post asap- and sretched the original timing chain, it skipped on me months later.
Since no ones explained it for some reason, I will.
Locked diff/welded diff/Minispool diff = Both wheels are 100% locked at any time, even when turning, your tyres will chirp due to being locked. really dangerous in the wet.
Open diff: a seen in the video, the wheels withe least traction will spin.
Viscious diff: The wheel with the MOST traction will spin. Therefore being generally OK for drifting use as the outside tyre takes the weight. And weight generally = grip.
Ha! I love it Steam! so next time I'm out and doing that shit I should signal w/ the rt signal for 5 or 10 seconds to let those know behind me whats coming?
ONE WHEEL PEEL! AWESOME!

wilkes85 4 years ago
nope thats normal, unless you have a stock limited slip-was avail- or a aftermarket set up. only the right side does all the work.
socalltd 4 years ago
really, u mean no matter what, the left tire will never do anything, like the front tires?

Thanks, man. I was having editing issues on this one. I figured I'd leave the blinker in there ... y'know, to add suspense. Hahaa.
I'm not sure if I realized it was on. The tractor driver about a mile back did mention a few days later that he appreciated it.
