Gary Thorne and Bill Clement were the ultimate tandem... Versus is a freakin joke now... As a flyers fan I know Clement used to be a flyer and prolly had biased feelings for the flyers but he rarely showed it. Versus has actual analysts of other teams doing games on versus for national audiences i.e. the boston series and worst of all olczyck for the cup finals. I think I heard him cream himself last night when the blackhawks scored to make it a one goal game at the end. Absolute joke.

I think he had a severe accident during off ice training. After that some movements with his glove arm became impossible for him, for ever. So he got a derogation to attempt a comeback in the ECHL, wearing 2 blockers instead of 1 glove, 1 blocker.

Apparently, he intended to seek further derogations to play at higher levels using the same equipment, but nobody was very supportive. Probably, nobody really thought he could maintain a high level with his disability, so they suggested he let it go.
