@Ederik73 The bigger the number the faster it is, but more prone to errors. (But you can chose to write at a different speed). I would always go for the biggest, as I hardly ever burn and when I do I can change it so 8x if I wished too.
@osrald Yes as long as there is space for an optical drive in your case. All motherboards will allow you to connect an optical drive to the motherboard via a SATA cable
These tuts are honestly garbage. He just recites what he has read offline and doesnt have any experience in what hes talking about. There is absolutely nothing wrong with, and i prefer, sata compatible optical.
@shawn3975 No it will just read two cd disks and not a dvd disk. Just getting two CD drives does not equal a dvd drive. Just get a dvd drive and you will be set. Or get two if installing a game with multiple disks. I am answering this because I am hoping this wasn't a troll question.
@Mr1Puff lol I hope you are joking, I would piss myself if someone asked me that. There are alot of dumb people. Just look at all these morons buying alienware full tower PCs when you can build one with the same specs for like a 3rd of the cost. Waste of $.
@shawn3975 Just built myself a computer - Info- Corsair obsidian black 650B case, corsair dominator 2000mhz 2x4g of ram, i7 2600k processor at 3.4ghz for now, 128g WD SSD, WD 1terabyte HDD, 850 watt power supply, and Zotac GTX 560 Ti Zt graphics card. Cost 1400 dollars total. :)
@iamthebomb17 if we are going for a FULL HD screen with a compatible graphics card and you have 120$ to spent to something you probably won't use (because i prefer watching them in my living room at my ps3) then yea sure.
@iamthebomb17 i have a full tower (CoolerMaster Cosmos S case) so i cant move it, if you can great. After all i didnt buy the PS3 for waching movies (wich i love doing) but because i wanted a game console and PS3 was that+a blue-ray player (2 in 1) :D so as you can see it is what it works best for you, for me this works best, for you the bleu-ray on your pc =]
The thing to remember is if you actually need a DVD drive. Most people play DVDs on their PC so if you're using it for anything more than office work then DVD is the way to go.
what kind of mother boader to buy i am new to built comupter i go to moirc cent for computer part they high price do know good site cheap computer parts ?

Hey!! MatsVidar!!! What's wrong with Vista?!?!?! I haven't had any problems at all with Vista! I honestly don't see why switching to windows 7 is such a big thing right now.....that's like throwing (how much is windows 7?) $200 out of your wallet for something that runs almost the same as the previous version
@ID2Japan SSD stands for solid state disk (which i believe you know) and is therefore more quiet and produces les heat, because it has no moving parts, but so far they are not so popular yet, but i believe that in 5 they will be more widely used than HDD.
what you all talking and giving comment these say will be trash and shit for another day later. technology are moving faster than we ever think of it.
um heyyy guys im building a new computer but im having trouble trying to find an optical drive. I dont know what op drive to buy. Maybe u guys could tell me?? my motherboard is GA-790XTA-UD4
You can get like blue ray but who needs it on a computer? few do.
And again. as he says dont go all crazy on the Ram. Like i got 4gbs now and i cant se myself upgrading to 8 just yet even that 12gbs is possible with windows 7 64bits.
4gbs of ram is fine for hardcore gaming. so unless ur going to be editing video footage from HD Camcorders with AVCHD formates.
x64 (xp vista and win7 64bit) based operating systems (if you had enough slots and the motherboard was configured) would take up to 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 GB (18.4 exabytes)
Yea everyone. This is from 2008. But you really learn alot from it. Just keep in mind that some of the numbers is a bit higher now. like 1 gb of ram is shitty. get 2 for poor or 4 for normal or 8gbs for a good computer. and as jdfrt12569 says. Go with SATA DvD Drives now. Cuz the now Windows 7 is out and ye. lot has changes sinse 2008. Most people know, so dont give me no hate. just incase some newbie tries to follow this 100%. @MatsVidar -.- if you have a 32 bit operating system then fuck 8 gigs 4 of it will go to waist, 32 bit operating systems will limit the amout of ram to 4, so yea
