I too was told to look for a solo some where in the middle of this video. O M G !!!! That is all I can say to discribe it. O M G !!! You need to check it out it is tight shit fool !!!! Muah Kisses Tammy
great playing by Albert... but question.. why is it when stringed instruments play with brass instruments ... the brass instruments are never tuned to the guitar? while im sure they are all playing in the same "key" the "pitch" seems horribly off here... either Albert is too sharp or the brass is just too flat.... I'm thinking its the latter
like a diver coming up to fast ,,Al will give you the bendzzzz.sound like hes got the phazer on..Ive seen him 3 times once when he was mad at the sound man the band and anyone that looked at him wrong!but he"ll always please!!god rest you mr.king.
Albert King is one of the truly great bluesman. Many of the legendary blues players including Buddy Guy pay homage to Albert by utilising his martial in their performances.
‘Albert was born under a bad sign; he played the blues for the world and forever changed the way the world would play the blues’ ...

I don't know if it's his sound signature, but I see a lot of live performances (like this one) where he plays his guitar out of tune, even though he sings perfectly in tune...pretty strange...
@bonecracker23 Albert King played in a bunch of alternate tunings most commonly drop C# (minor) so it's not his guitar out of tune but his preference of playing in alternate tunings. I have no idea why he preferred alternate tunings, if anyone has ideas I would love to find out.
@S1NN3R2106 Albert King played that low so he could bend the string two whole stops. Also really dependent on the tuning was his tone.. As the less tension= less attack you need on the strings thus effecting his tone. Finally his vibrato. His vibrato is so unbelievable. He has less tension on the strings so its easier to do vibrato.
All blues players need to hear this, it's not how many notes you play, it's the energy you direct with the notes you do play. Albert King plays the same licks over and over, and yet when that left-hand thumb strikes those strings, you know immediately there's something special about his playing. B.B. King, Albert King, Albert Collins, same idea, they can both tell a story with 2 or 3 notes, and make show-off fast guitar players look like kids.
also add that "feeling" is a key component to achieve this . it's all soul...

Albert King is one of the few blues legends that Clapton never tried to mess with live! He was smart enough to know he wasn't in his league!

He used alternate tunings because he played the guitar upside down. If you look closely you will see the bass strings on the bottom!
