sleepers tend to have a limit of 80mph maximum for passenger comfort then you had the sharp approach curves before Lancaster and the linespeed around the all the switchbacks after Oxenholme plus those upon entering the Lune gorge are pegged at 80mph bar tilting plastic, so the sleeper was hardly breaking sweat..........btw guys.....couldnt you sleep that night?
Your enthusiasm is electric, being a regular passenger on that service I can understand why. Maybe you could attempt the same from Pitlochry to The Pass of Drumochter, it's usually a 67 up there.
Disputable. A 'normal' train would call at Lancaster and Oxenholme where as this train was non-stop. Perhaps we shall try to race a pendolino in the near future...
