  • Am I the only one who hears this song in The Lion King's theme?

  • Good score, terrible movie. The best example of a movie which belittles and dehumanizes indigenous peoples in favor of raising up the "civilized" Europeans as their saviors.

  • @Birdmanigan - um i think that is the point of the film - it is highly critical of the Europeans both the Catholic church and the colonists. Yes plenty of the evil characters try to dehumanise the Guarani, but the Irons and De Niro characters do not they both turn against their European background to fight for the Guarani. The church missons gave refuge to the Guarani from slavers and plantation owners. Still today here the memory of the missions is held in respect by these peoples

  • @LatinAmericaStudios I'm not denouncing the character's efforts to help the Guarani, I'm denouncing the film its self. The movie essentially makes the Guarani into furniture. They hardly speak, and when they do we never know what they are saying. They are only in the film so the Europeans have something to "save".

  • This song brings back a lot of fond memories : )

  • this film may teach to non-latin peoples what actually means (in the best sense and in the worst one) the catholic religion for latin countries

  • The best score ever!

  • Not sure why this song reminds me of Scotland, peaceful.

  • this song made the movie so much more incredible

  • how on EARTH can you dislike this?!

  • Hard to imagine the man turned Charles Bronson into a harmonica player.

  • Does anyone know of what I believe was a French illusionist performing to this song?

  • I loved the music in this film and I knew it was based on christian themes but I still have no Idea what the hell this movie about

  • @Blashada In a nutshell: In trying to convert the "barbabrian" indians to Christianity, the politics (of the church and the colonial powers driven by the church) demonstrated that they were worse barbarians themselves. At the end, when the dust settles, the (surviving) children have the option of picking up a volin or a crucifix from the river. Guess which one they choose?

  • Una de las mejores bandas sonoras de todos los tiempos, es como una ventana al mas alla...

  • the ending of the soundtrack is amazing

  • We groomed the mountain lion. Afterward, in appreciation of his grooming, he licked us clean. Then we resolved to spend the day together so we could all watch the sunset.

  • You know you're listening to something special when you have shivers down your spine.

  • The last minute of this song gives me goose pimples. It's divine.

  • This is what you call music. Turn the radio off. And turn this up!

  • O Sr. Ennio Morricone é fantástico, suas músicas são sintonia com a trilha do filme e com o sentimento humano. Absolutamente incrível!!

  • One of the greatest films to ever come out of the '80s. Ennio Morricone is brilliant.

  • I love this movie.

  • i love the music!

and when they were in the jungle and this music comes on...its so nice

  • theology... history... the soundtrack is better than movie

  • The first song is "On Earth as it is in Heaven."

  • hats the name of the first song?.

    Please can someone tell me

  • Great movie, watching this for a history class.

  • im watchin this movie for my Theology Class

  • Ennio Morriconi is a genius but the film was great and the idiots did not realise what a good film this was. I am sure the native americans of south america will watch this film in the future and realise that some Europeans were not the greedy bastards that destroyed their culture.

  • But they (begin me as well) did, but the Jesuits were one of the few that tried to save those people, and the only way to do that would be to make Christians out of them, other wise, the Portuguese would kill them, or make slaves out of them. But in this history, as in many others, even that didn't succeed. This movie is telling us how cruel we were at that time, (witch was mostly because people were told that the Indians were animals) to those Indians, in N- and S- America.

  • i agree with you

  • another masterpiece by morriconne..in my opinion was the best of all time!
