I remember watching this in class last week, I really like the film because it is pretty accurate, and good actors as well, I found this scene to be effective but creepy and a bit sad because of the eerie music but the movie was very good
Macbeth is a story which may seem amusing to some in my class, but it is a terrific story that should never be replaced. It always makes me rather sad, in this scene, rather than happy.
I loved Macduff's uniform with the stars on it. Also, notice as the head is being brought up the stairs, one guard spits on it and another kicks at it?
if you guys didn't know, that decapitation was real. the actor was terminally ill and was offered a TON of money to do it for real. he accepted. and that was his end :D
@shadowcharizard10 Read the play. Please. Stop relying on the internut for your information. Watch Polanski's film - it's available. Pretty faithful adaptation capturing the essentials.
@shadowcharizard10 At first he was a very successful general and had a lot of respect. His desires which are aroused by the witches eventually bring to the downfall of him and many innocent people. That's the tragedy of the play.
Would you believe I saw this movie in high school when we were learning about Macbeth? This decapitation scene was one of many that stood out in my mind! Roman Polanski is one of the most intense directors in the world!
