i want to know Justin's opinion on John Mayer...he's who got me interested in blues. i personally think he's great....i can LITERALLY hear words or stories in his guitar playing alone...so i think he's great. just curious why Justin didn't mention him at all
I used to think that Justin talked too much but then I realized that you have to get up to speed and rhythm ( no pun) with what he's trying to convey. Thanks Justin. You've helped me on my guitar journey tremendously. Now , will you please get my band a gig? ;)
HOLY SHIT DUDE LISTENING TO YOU MADE ME PLAY A COOL BLUES LICK SUDDENLY! THANKS!! XD well some tutorials there just dont wanna say it out straight your awesome!
i like it that he not only shows liks ans scales and stuff i play for 3 1/2 years now and most of the time my teachers just showed me liks and scales and practice stuff. its good to know some other stuff beside that to realy get forward in playing.
@Royisinabox I think I can help. There is a "blues scale" that consists of an extra half step interval between the 4 and the 5. So in the key of A, you would go A, C, D, D#, E, G, and back to A. The D# is that extra "blues note". There is also the mixolydian scale, which is a combination of major and minor pentatonic. I usually think of it as mixing the two, maybe playing in the major and landing on the 5th as my target note, and then playing in the minor and wrapping it up on the root.
this is the best explanation of guitar i have ever heard. i have been playing for 27 yrs and this taught me somthing. i will definatly pass it on. thank you

i understand why we as players must learn other players licks and all...but why ??

At last someone who knows what they are talkin about. This foof is cluless but even more disturbing is how many people think he knows what he is talking about and fuck me he even thinks he can teach...... Oh Lord Spare us
COME ON COME CLEAN AND FUCK ME U R SO MEDIOCAR = WHY HAVE U SENT YOURSELF UP 4 FREE LESSIONS OH YES OF COURSE NO-ONE WOULD PLAY YOU AND CRAPTON PLEASE = JUST WATCH JEFF BECK BLOW HIM OFF STAGE AT EFF BECK'S WEEK AT RONNIE SCOTT = THEY ONLY DID "WHOLE LOTTA LOVE" COS PAGE & PLANT WERE IN THE AUDIENCE LOL BRILLIANT & AS BAD A GUITARIST AS CRAPTON IS AT LEAST HE PAYS HIS DUES UNLIKE P & P HENCE THE PISS TAKE = ANYWAY WATCH THE VID ITS ON UTUBE & CRY
i am sure that iamsillyyesiam's NAME gives everything about them away and that Justin is cool enough to let that worry him - he is, after all, a world class guitarist and we are here to learn from him (just wish i was in the UK to persuade him to teach me as a private student, lol) BUT, I have to wonder why people even bother putting rude negative comments on here ? Jesus - the guy is doing us all an IMMENSE favour here . Justin - carry on as you are man - I love your presentation.
Most of the learning comes from listening, dont give the man a hard time, because he's given all of us very very pertinent info and alot of guitarists are gonna benefit greatly from it. I always think the same thing regarding listening and transcribing solos myself instead of just going and finding tabs for something, because you dont learn anything by tabs.
I've been trying my hand at blues playing for a while now but I never came across the 'speaking words' analogy before. Cheers for that, its really opened up possibilities.
I might add that fundmentaly your rhythm MUST be played accurately. accurate rhthm is paramount ! Nice andd clean and fluid. Don't put it off! Get a metrome. Playing with a metronome will help it be accurate. "Music is

i am sure that iamsillyyesiam's NAME gives everything about them away and that Justin is cool enough to let that worry him - he is, after all, a world class guitarist and we are here to learn from him (just wish i was in the UK to persuade him to teach me as a private student, lol) BUT, I have to wonder why people even bother putting rude negative comments on here ? Jesus - the guy is doing us all an IMMENSE favour here . Justin - carry on as you are man - I love your presentation.

Yes you do talk too much. Say it once and move on. We can always rewind if we do not understand you.
Still good videos, just keep them short and sweet.
