holyF! Those scenes were shot in Mexico sometime after 1968 I think. The sculptures are part of what was called "Ruta de la amistad" (The Friendship Route) which span all along an avenue called Periferico and they were built to celebrate friendship among the nations that came to the 68 MX Olympics. REally really trippy!!! try wwwdotmexico68dotorg
I totally believe that they were a bunch of thugs in their day, you know bad asses. I have loved them since I was a teen. there is no one that can touch them!

The Sonics - the greatest garage punk band of all time. I played bass in a garage punk band called the Psychofonics in NYC during the mid 1980's. We played a mix of originals and covers such as "Boss Hoss" and "The Witch" by The Sonics. Career Highlight: Playing CBGB's on a Saturday night. Our sound was too raw to be accepted by the NYC psychedilc scene (bunch of wimps and posers). We also played at "The Dive," "Nightengales," and "Neither/Nor." It was fun for the brief time it lasted.
The Witch - The Sonics [Tacoma, Washington] - 1965 - "AMG pick. Would become a regional hit, receiving extensive airplay on the powerful Seattle AM station KJR, but the Sonics would never break nationally." - Here Are The Sonics (Norton)-1999.
