The doc should have shown a picture of the fat pig this kidney came from. That way, we could REALLY learn something.

I bet that fat surrounding the kidney, mixing with a little water, would be a great soup base. Take the GOOD part of that kidney, cook in a crock pot with some shallots and cilantro, make good eetin. And use some of that fat for some soupy gravey.

Well I'd presume that they would remove the tumor, and put the kidney back into the patient, and i am not sure if they give immunosuppressants for a while so that the tumor doesnt come back, but i am sure it involves medications. Sometimes the tumor is so big and all over the kidney, its impossible to remove the tumor and the tumor causes renal failure, which requires dialysis and/or transplant.I had a renal transplant! and i hope to be a future renal doc!!! God-Willing!

@grosspa isn't that normal though? the pictures we see in text books of a kidney have no fat around them, but we need that fat to stop the force of a punch or a blow to the side that would otherwise bruise the kidney, right? I guess my question is, is that an excessive amount of fat?
