I was looking into getting that 4000 fosgate, but my 2000 had BAD rattle issues with the cover as it is metal on metal, solved with some weather stripping though. But I decided I didn't want to have to "fix" the amp being brand new, so I came across a little company called SUNDOWN AUDIO and grabbed an SAZ-4500 before they discontinued them for a LOT less than the Fosgate!!! Not to mention the power output is WAYYY more!! But they have replaced it with the NS-1... keep u n same class as fosgate.

Dooooon't turn your gains all the way up. You don't want a clipping signal, especially not going to subs as expensive as that. I would hate to see you blow your subs. Keep it under 3/4 gain and your good to go even though it may still be clipping a little at that level.

Your gain shouldn't be used as a volume knob, purchase an O-Scope or a DD-1 and set your gain properly and you will probably be surprised at how clean and loud you system will be. Once it's set you should have to move it. If you haven't seen any of his videos, look up Steve Meade and DD-1. O-scopes are better imo but they are also a hell of a lot more expensive.

Great equipment! Seeing you "bump" up the gain the way you kind of worries me. You have a lot of time and money into your system and if you're not sure what you're doing turing knobs, I'm not sure I'd be turnin knobs.

Sound deadener is in your future; the people outside of your car will appreciate less rattle. And it'll sound better inside the car too.

@2011Runner All you need to do is find out how many amps your car stereo is drawing, and then go from there. If you get a capacitor for it, that will help alot. Just add up your fuses on your amp and then find out what your alternator puts out. Send me a message and let me know if that helps you out

@199rebirth I changed it out. The biggest alternator that I could get without frying my computer was a 165 amp alt. I think that I'm goin to pull out my AC pump and use the open spaceto add a second bigger alternator dedicated to the system. I can add more batteries that way to, and that will keep my voltageup much better.

@Thorgious if you want more power. talk to TwistedChiled420 search him up on youtube, he is the cresendo audio sales rep and you can get a 3500 watt amp for like cheap cheap, plus there brand new. so you could be runin 3500 watts to each sub in stead of on 2000 and still probably pass les for 2 amps then you payed for the rockford,

Just don't think there is a amp, or any other amps that are stronger then this rockford. Last but not least these are 4 ohm subs, I would need to slave the amps to bridge them to 1 ohm so it would be moving backwards

@blistex239 The subs I got for a good deal, $500 each, the deck was $1,200, the alpine amp was like $300 if I remember right, I spend like $2,000 on sound proofing the whole car, because I foamed it, SPL sludged it, and put 2 layer of matting down. then had to upgrage the suspension to take the extra weight

@Thorgious yea i use to set em all by ear but even doing so you still want more bass..... but turning up ur gain isnt a bad thing unless you like heavy bass...but you'll clip em if your headunit is turned all the way up . For example if your headunit limit is 50 i would turn it up to about 43 max to avoid clipping... The DD1 is an awesome little tool that i love because you set your gains properly without ever worring about clipping at your highest volume...try out w/e works out best for you
