Just for the case he isn't making the enemies case, the movie is 1) trying to portray just how askew or F__ed -up the world view is of America, and 2) how askew or F__ed-up certain slices of america are, imagine looking up to a maniacal child-molester and crowning him the king of pop. Governments and sovreign wealth funds hold the bulk of there reserves of currency in the form of dollars because of its historic stability and widespread use in trade, thats why its the reserve currency.. That may change but there are powerful interests besides the US who won't allow it for at least another 10 to 20 years. Whether oil will continue to be traded in dollars is a different issue.
