a better tactic is to use dual EM Lasers. They do big damage to the boss even in tank mode.

Pretty good tip to use the shotguns in the beginning and the grenade launcher for the boss. However it can be done easier if you just took cover behind the poles, they are indestructible. Whenever the boss is coming at you in tank form, just wait you won't be doing a lot of damage anyway. When he goes in vs-form you can easily shoot him with your rockets and grenade launcher. Furthermore shooting him at his back does HUGE damage. Overall good walkthrough!

Use the grenade launcher, but don't aim at the boss. When he is in his walking mode, fire at the ground just beneath him. It should hurt him pretty heavily.

Are you kidding me ?? This boss is easy as pie on foot on extreme mode, trust me I am not bs-in you !! I can beat him in 4-5 minutes on extreme on foot by using one of the pillars to avoid him and use the grenade launcher and rocket launcher to beat him. I even used hand grenades for the final blow on him !

i gave up on metroid bosses man..... they were jsut impossible...infact i got so pissed off at the metroid bosses that i burnt the game discs!!!! agree this boss pissed me off too... though this dude makes it look easy to kill him!!!

After 20 attempts i beat this boss with four shots on Normal.....dont know how i did but when it was walking my rocket shots must have targeted certain areas or something.

I hated the homing rockets it had......nightmare!!

You know those giant tubes around the boss' arena and in the hall before that can be shot at. They will roll off and deal nice damage to anything they crush.

Also one big thing is to aim at the legs to blow off its parts. Especially when its in spider mode. Aim for the stuff on the legs.

One suggestion: After killing the 3 small tanks, and picking up the Rocket Launcher and/or Grenade Launcher: stand behind one of the three large verical concrete columns. The boss cannot harm you there, and you can wait until he goes into walking mode, then step out and shoot him, then step back.

did u notice the different colored cylinders? if shoot them they might roll into the boss and do massive damage
