It is not a ripoff of Macross Plus, guys. Try actually watching the movie before making snap judgments. Look up Stealth (film) on Wikipedia for the actual details of the actual movie plot. EDI did not turn malevolent and "Hypnotize" people, he learned from the three pilots and was trying to achieve his programming mandate as a war plane. Like I said, try actually watching the movie before judging.

I saw the latter half of this on TV (I believe it was either TNT or Scifi channel) and was all O.O DUDE!!! I immediately hit up Amazon and bought the 2 disk Wide Screen Special Edition DVD. I very much enjoyed it because I have always loved the concept of true AI creations, which is probably why I fell in love with Transformers at age 10.

The only two reasons I can see that this movie didn't do better was due to it being released opposite too many other big budget BOOM movies (action/explosions) and the fact that it had very little exposure (advertising). If it were to have been released 3 years later (in 2008 instead of 2005) it would likely have done much better in the box office returns and we'd have seen a sequel by now.
