To tell you the truth, the original series was supposed to end with Sherlock and Moriarty both dying, cuz they complete each other in a weird way. The readers weren't happy about that and litterally greived the loss of the most awsome person known to man... so they more or less forced the author to write another book, ressurecting our lost hero! :D

i have seen this film in theaters. My favorite clips where when the light tower fell, those guys that were running through the wood and having there asses shot at by those guns, Sherlock's stealth tricks and the last clip of Moriarty and Sherlock (chess game, them strategizing how they would fuck each other up and both of them falling.< Sherlock is all calm the other guy is like, AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH FUUUUUUUUUCCKK!!!

For those of you who are angry at this interpretation let me remind you...it is a Hollywood adaptation aimed at a wide audience. One that emphasizes certain, less noted, characteristics of Sherlock Holmes.

@arnolder no i havve read a lot of sherlock books and how robert downey jr plays him is how i always imagined sherlock to be i was surprised how good the first one was and i hope this one is as good. only problem is that the first one was a bit to easy to predict

@asianboy938 I've also read the Holmes books/short stories several times and have to disagree with you. In my opinion, if you look at the essentials of the book (logic, atmosphere, Holme's personality and approach to situations), then the first movie is the biggest stretch from the books in a LONG time.

I really can't imagine a storyline similar to the first movie in any Sherlock Holmes book.

@opszanski yes but im not talking about the atmosphere. as a atmosphere is hard thing to explain to someone with some book. everyone sees it different as well as the personality. personally i think Robert jr made a good job trying to be like sherlock holmes is a very hard character to be i also think as you that he has a some flaws being sherlock holmes but admit he is pretty close

@asianboy938 I think that RDJ could've made a great holmes, but the script from the first movie makes no attempt to do so. For one thing, the plot doesn't make sense. I thought Sherlock was supposed to be a genius, able to see so much from what normal people see as common place. Instead, we get a grand magic trick he plays on us with no purpose but to wow the viewer. The first movie completely lacks basic logic and the storyline and explanation at the end is laughably implausible.

@opszanski you have gotten it all wrong. when i said RDJ was a good sherlock holmes was not how he follows the story but how he follow sherlock holmes character. sherlock holmes is seen as a genius but if u read the book it explains sherlock holmes personality hes good side and hes flaws. like having anxiety problem to stay still hes always on the move. and how he is cocky and very very unsocial. movie okay but acting was top notch in my opinion

@asianboy938 They didn't get his personality right though. RDJ acting was top notch I'll agree with you there, but the actual character did not match the books. In the movie, holmes is arrogant by today's expectation, very different from the book character. This same rule applies to his eccentricity as well as the structure for a detective movie in general. Doyle created Holmes because he was tired of reading stories where the storyline was irrational, the movie kind of did poorly in that area.
