@CelesteK yup, this one and the yup yup aliens with the telephone...oh and little tiny super guy (the cup with the little man on it..) Funny what we remember
It's hard to believe that after all this time of Ernie dragging Bert through the jungle for hundreds of miles, Bert DIDN'T fly off the handle at Ernie's "important" question for Dr. Livingston.
Id say this is as classic SS as you can get. Incredible written sketch with Jim and Frank's muppets yelling back and forth, then hugging and at the end happy and laughiing. sketches like this are what make ss memorable!
Yes, that was strange for Ernie and Bert to walk for hours in the jungle just so that Ernie could say a Bugs Bunny joke to Dr. Livingstone. However, I guess Ernie needed to say it in person because, there probably was no telephone in the jungle (of course, there were no cell phones back then and there was no email back then either). (I'm sure once Ernie, Bert, the fireman, and the taxi driver finished laughing, Ernie and Bert turned back around to walk home for another hundred miles).
What a nice hug Ernie shared with Bert at 3:25-3:30, due to the fact that they found Dr. Livingston after walking hundreds of miles and being tired and hungry!
I swated a mosquito on my dad's leg when I was fishing as of getting it off him for which I do that quite often when mosquitoes are seen on my friends and realitives skin or wherever.
Hell yeah! The entire "Dr. Livingston, I presume" thing is one big adult-oriented joke. (Of course, I only get it because of my college history professor...)

This skit contains some my favourite lines from Sesame street:
"i tell ya, it's a jungle out here"
"After all this time?!!" (I still say this to my sister if she takes forever to make a decision then changes her mind at the last minute.)
"This jungle's full of jokers!"
Thanks for posting it.

Dr. Livingstone, I presume,
Stepping out of the jungle gloom,
Into the midday sun.
What did you find there,
Did you stand a while and stare,
Did you meet anyone?
I've seen butterflies galore,
I've seen people big and small,
I've still not found what I'm looking for.
We're all looking for someone.

Sorry for the bad quality with the logo blur.
Maybe sometime in the future someone could download the clips and fix them.
At least now It wont be removed due to the logo issues.
