@Tarikatlar yes,I heard this song before the arabian version in a documentary film about something from arabia, but balkans do also their own bellydance songs in balkanic style, but many hits are from lebanon or egypt
I find the discussions relevant to the origin of this music completely out of reality. To start with, this particular piece has a very defined origin: it is composed by a real person named Takis Gritziovalos and not by a country named Arabia, Greece, Turkey etc! Who is so knowledgeable from all of you as to know anything on the origin of these ANCIENT rhythms and music? If you really love your countries, do something good and pragmatic. For example do not throw your garbage out of your cars!
This is not Greek music, this is Arabic music, to be more precise egyptian or lebanese...but the Greek music industry adopts these Middle Eastern rythms into their music....
@Petsy2006 actually it was ancient Greeks who opened your eyes to music......so it is shared now..why dont you say this to the iranians and Turks ???????
its Arabic which was influenced by Greek Byzantine...music......Turks came later ..they never had music like this....They are central asian peoples ( Turic)
Ey, Nice music. But this is far from greek, and even turkish, eyvallah, this is lebaeese or souriyan. Do not mislead people, we have similar music in Bulgaria, but this is not balkan nor "greek". You may be half greek and half marsriya, but this is NOT greek, sorry too dissapoint you, my friend. Selam Aleikum, bratko!
What is that drum called? Looks exacltly like my mothers'.. Does anyone know where she would get it repaired? It has a tear in it D; But I'd love to learn to play one. Great music btw ^^

Tsifteteli = greek? Anyone who claims or thinks this 'music" is even remotely greek, needs to have their heads examined.
