That's cool you can download firmware for 550d. I was interested in getting the 60d because you can adjust the audio manually. What do you think? I know the 60d is more expensive. Looks like Europe has a nice film industry. maybe I should move there!

Great work - I love your stuff. Keep up the good work! I too have a Canon 550d and Rode Videomic and use Magic Lantern (ML). Have you had any problems with the recorded audio levels using the Rode Videomic and ML on your 550d. The recording levels that I have experienced on mine seem a little on the low side - which is frustating. I need to set ML to manual gain to 32db and digitial gain to at least 18db which isn't great to get anything near descent. Please let me know - thanks

Hey Anders! I'm very interested in your rig.

Have you considered using your H4n as a stereo mic on top of your camera? If you find a jack-splitter-cable and put it in the headphone/LINE-outlet on the left side of the H4n, you now have a separate hole for headphones and for LINE - thus you can put a jack-to-jack cable from the one hole to the camera's EXT mic IN-socket and record the audio as well as monitoring it. You just need a Tripod Screw to Flash Hot Shoe Mount Adapter!

@ Andyax shoulder looks awesome, I'm very interested pls don't forget to think on all possible ways to use it would be grate if it has a universal quick release plate or a possible way to install one so we can remove the camera easily and install it on any other device such tripods or camera stabilizers without unscrew it from the rig, as well as optional monitor mounting,light mounting mic and stuff can't wait for the final project post a video soon to let us know how you making it thanks
