What I love about this dance (and Southern Strutt in general) is that they're actually dancing, not just doing trick after trick. It makes it feel so much more genuine.

@CassSmiles using songs and choreography like this challenges them to pull from emotions rather than just smiling. they may not fully understand it at this point, but the earlier you challenge them, the more well rounded they will be when they are older. but yes everyone has their opinion, and I'm not putting yours down, just giving you mine! :-)

its very hard for a young child to convey adult emotions. Lyrical is a dance for adults stemming from adult emotions.

It was incredible dancing, but for me, as a lyrical dancer myself, I see lyrical as a way to convey emotions to the audience and make them feel. That didn't happen then. I'm sure sure if it was the choreography style, as amazing as the choreography was, or whether because they are so young they haven't experienced what the song is talking about, and therefore find it hard to express through movement. Just my two cents. :)

The little brunette in the center for most of the dance is such a wonderful dancer. This is why I love Brooke Pierotti as a choreographer. She creates dances that really suit the girls. This dance is breathtaking for such young girls.

@4LoveOfDance I totally agree with the choreography comment. The choreography let's them show their skills and stay little girls. Showing that you don't have to gyrate or dance suggestively to show you're an advanced dancer. They showed skill, musicality and emotion, while dancing appropriately for their age. It's refreshing and beautiful.
