The idea of Cage's character standing in the corner behind that door - waiting for those two old ladies to come - maybe for hours on end, and picturing him at one point pulling out a dry shaver (?) and starting to shave his crazy face, made me laugh hysterically.
@hopkins4545 lol, It was never planned as a remake, Herzog has never even seen the original, but the production company thought it would give the film more selling-power... a really really dumb move on their part
Great Director! - though Amazing when he says he doesn't think in terms of symbols & metaphors - cause his films & writing are so completely Full of them! visual & other-wise - could be an un-conscious thing for him - but he's too intelligent for that - perhaps he doesn't want to explain them in interviews!
@sirdoug3 For my degree, I spent a term writing poetry. I used many images that could be seen to symbolize or represent. Each reader could put their own individual meaning into my writing, responding in a unique way. When they asked me what it meant, I would answer that it is better for them to decide for themselves. The truth is, I did not try to symbolize anything; I wanted only to articulate interesting images.

Fuck this movie. You take a gritty, nc-17 movie like Bad Lieutenant, and turn it into a stupid fuckin Nick Cage movie.
I like Cage in some films, but he's a horrible "actor". He's not the guy you hire for a gritty cop film.
I wish they would've just called this pile of shit something else.

Nothing compared to the original, but brilliant in it's own way.

There is a certain wisdom and eloquence that Werner possesses that I find very engaging. I enjoy his interviews as much as his films.

I have to agree with Herzog. Nick Cage is always hilarious. Just look for "best of the whicker man".

Werner Herzog is one of the few geniuses in cinema.

Yeah, how come there are no reported UFO abductions in Ethiopia? I guess they don't watch Sci-Fi films nor tuned into the X-Files re-runs much.

Hey man, thanks for making this little feature about Mr. Herzog. I just love this guy and his movies. His outgoing reply was hilarious.
