@lupuradu Actually some of the mk4 GTi's came stock with the vr6 motor. Hense why this one is fwd. It's a 2.8 vr6. If u find an mk4 GTi VR6 pick one up immedietly. Pretty hard to come across.
Ha ha!!! If it was a GTi 'acting' as an R32 why would it be making a distinctly 6cylinder noise...or could it be that you have never been near a real R32 in your lives so wouldn't know what one sounded like! Get up and step away from the keyboard before you hurt yourselves!!
even tho this IS a real r32 the mk4 gti comes with a vr6 as well as the 1.8t and if yoiu really wanted to you can cut the spare wheel well out of a gti to fit the r32 exhaust and youd get that "distinct 6 cyl noise" youre refering to from the r32.

VR6 would be something between the GTI and R32 (even tho the VR6 is basically a V6 engine, but it's weaker than the 3.2 available on the R32.)
@lupuradu Ummm, it does come with a VR6....I don't know where you're from but in America GTI's DO come with VR6's. 12v's and 24v's... My cousin owns one. It's DEFINITELY a VR6. They offer 1.8T and VR6 for the GTI
what GVKmotorsport says is right, why don't you set you'r facts straight and then start flaming. R32 cen be run in 4WD or 2WD. and because of the dyno, they run it 2WD.
listen to the dude! its an r32. his explanation is logical and works with what u see in the vid, might well be 2wd in the vid but its not a double dyno so they cudnt wack in on AWD..
It's an R32, the fuse was removed from the Haldex system, so that the car runs in 2wd, why would anyone go to the trouble of fitting a 3.2 into a GTI and keep it front wheel drive?
They wouldn't!
So again, for those that are a litle slow.
The car is a UK spec R32, that's a 3.2 mk4 Golf, with the Haldex FOUR WHEEL DRIVE system, which on this occasion was run in TWO WHEEL DRIVE for the dyno runs.

he simply unplugged the Haldex witch makes it FWD. its not meant to be street driven like that though. just good for dynos.
