  • @2:43 it looks like the dude behind the driver breaks his femur as he is bailing out of the back

  • no ..ho dads? no gremies ..is that what he said>?

  • i want to blow both guys

  • NO cover version can remotely hope to come close to beating the originally-released versions - mainly dating from the 'Golden Era' of Sthn Calif music from 1963 / 64 - of these iconic, all-time classic ORIGINAL surf / hot-rod songs. There's an old but wise saying - one that still holds true : THE ORIGINAL & BEST ....

  • @colindominy Hmmmm.... Since Jan and Dean did the original, it is not a cover, just a different take by the original artist. A cover means you are "covering" a song by a different artist. I was born in '51, and I find this version entertaining - a humorous spoof on themselves. I guess I'm just picking up on the misuse of "cover". Can't a group re-do their own song?

  • @BanjoBill427 : I was born in 54, been a fan since the mid 60s.The footage in this little clip is actually very cute, in a corny kind of 'Hollywood' way. But, I still find the music pretty damned lame (no disrespect intended) compared to the original studio production & commercial release (in which Brian W. had a hand, thereby imparting a peerless inherent quality to it). Nonetheless, thanks for your feedback on my original comment. I guess we can all be thankful that J & D music EXISTS, per se.

  • i didn't admit anything boy nice that yo u are so deluded with yourself, now stay off the meth whitey

  • These guys are always out of tune when they sing this live. No talent. That's why they always took a back seat to the Beach Boys.

  • @hbdywtk Jan and Dean NEVER took a back seat to The Beach Boys OR any one else. They were not just first but they were best. Any way Brian Wilson gave an awesome interview giveing Jan Berry his rightfuly credit

  • @hbdywtk I like the fact they sing out of tune! lol. Really makes it for me - it's unpretentious and fun. That's what makes Jan and Dean - they were great! And I'm a major Beach Boys fan!

  • Sit on it Potsy.

  • dommage que le son soit moyen parce que ça me tue

  • Why I guess whats good for Soupy Sales is good for Dean Torrence as well :).

  • Boy this takes me back

  • This is the song I'm dancing too... I don't remember it. Darn.

  • Anyone can surf on water.

    o well, im 24:(

  • Yeah I am 23 going through these songs that are awesome and enjoying these video's. I tell you if I could I'd take a time machine back!

  • im 23...watching these early vids...man great time to live...i need to rent a time machine...!

  • @mdefil23 I know what you mean man. I'm 27. I'd give anything to live then instead of now. The music was REAL and the world was KINDER. Ahhhh, the golden years.

  • @mdefil23 it was

  • @mdefil23 It was a great era! Guys all dressed and acted liked guys, gals liked who they were and saw no reason to think they could compete with the guys, or wanted to for that matter. It was good, clean fun with great music. No drugs, political correctness, or whining politicians corrupt with greed and backed by a left-wing media.

We were all Americans who knew there was nothing we could not do and whose future was bright. All you had to do was rely on yourself and go to work for your dream.

  • @Halo101st

You must be smoking crack or meth when in the South Blacks couldn't vote, Hispanics had no Civil Rights and Gays were in the closet, I don't know what America you were living in but whatever drugs youre smoking please give me some because that's one hell of a dream your'e having.

  • @TheNewsoul2 And you, born in 1966, want to tell me all about the era where I was in high school, college and had already been in the service for a year BEFORE you were born. You have no idea what you are talking about, are running your mouth for no apparent reason, and are only making a fool of yourself with all your little druggie metaphors... and impressing no one.

It was an America you do not even have the remotest clue about so just shut up and listen to those of us who were there.

  • @Halo101st

And also stupid also, yeah I bet you were in college BOY !!! I know enough about Amerikkkan History before you and any else was born not to believe that stupid right- wing white denial about what was really going on in Amerikkka . I like the Jan and Dean song but spare me your Right- Wing revisonist BULLSHIT WHITE BOY !!!

  • @TheNewsoul2 Talk about an inferiority complex with the white man, you need professional help before you scamper off and hurt yourself. Nice of you to admit I was right and that you did not know what you were talking about, though. Sort of fits right in with that monumental inferiority complex of yours, doesn't it?

    O.K., run along now, boy...

  • @mdefil23 you're living in a much better era. Cherish it.

  • Nelson surf city here we come

  • Great Song!!

  • my favorite song since 1978

  • psst. It's 'gremmies' - what they called newbies back then, pre-teens or inexperienced surfers who'd get in the way of the gnarly dudes ;]

oh, and 'hodads' were people who hung out on the beach, but couldn't surf. Generally, dudes who were there just to pick up the surfer girls.

  • I didn't see this until Freyja1133 replied to my question with that vital information... Thanks, builttrainer.

  • Hey all you AARP-Boomers: What are "ho dads" and "grimmies?" ... That Jan wasn't the best actor in the world, but DAMN was he CUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTE...

  • it's surf lingo
