Sick and tired of people comparing chrono trigger to final fantasy. Final fantasy is just a big name franchise where chrono trigger was actually the most brilliant and made game of it's time. Final fantasy side by side to it back in the 1995's was absolute crap.

As for the cover, I think the biggest problem is that the audio quality is shoddy, likely due to bad recording tools. I'd be interested in hearing it again without the sound quality skewing it.

@easytoremember0 Basically the regular Square problems; relying on archetype assumptions instead of actually /developing/ characters, and having predictable and cliche-filled plots.
Chrono Trigger had incredible music and a great battle system, and was certainly better than anything else Square had made at the time (and nearly everything they made after) but that doesn't stop it from being... Well, mostly mediocre. Chrono you-know-what-ing was a nice touch.
@Shinkada I don't know about that, Final Fantasy 6 was equally amazing. very well developed characters and villain, phenomenal music, battle system, and the villain actually well...at the end of the "first half" you know what I mean.
@kefka3 Your definition of "developed" clearly differs to mine. As said before, Square rarely develops characters, they spend the 10-15 minutes after their introduction establishing their archetype and the rest of the character's dialogue becomes exposition, further narrowing the archetype, or - if you're REALLY LUCKY - adding a sub-archetype. Only one of Square's games didn't fall prey to this, and it didn't start with Final, Chrono or Kingdom.
@Shinkada clearly it does differ. the only two main characters in 6 who didn't really get a proper background were umaro and gogo. the rest were all vastly different from one another in their respective rights, had their own personalities and stories to follow and mysteries. in the second half of the game there are about a dozen optional side quests that further explore how those characters are built and how they relate to one another. I think you need to give it a bit more credit where it's due
@kefka3 FF6 is one of the games where you get sub-archetypes, which is better than the other FF's but still leagues behind many other RPGs. Having a background is not development. Being different archetypes is not development. Some games to try might be Shadow Hearts, .hack//G.U. (to an extent - really only two characters actually get development, but it's good for those two), Tales of the Abyss (same as //G.U.), Nier, and Square's only genuinely good game, The World Ends With You.
My favorite character theme from CT, most definitely! My favorite piece is actually Corridors of Time, but that's made collectively for the Zeal arc of the plot. This, along with Schala's theme and Lavos Core (Last Battle) theme, are so contagious! I've gotten my mother and sister to like them and they don't even know what CT is!
I don't think you went deep enough on the keys to match the theme. Don't get me wrong I admit you're a talented piano player, but I think I heard some mistakes.
Is it me or at the piano only this song resemble the phantom train song in final fantasy 3 on the snes?... well... at the start it sound really similar!

Chrono Trigger doesn't need remade. Unless they can make the graphics look like Akria's artwork exactly, I want nothing to do with a remake. Game is way too beautiful to make sprites turn into ugly ass cel-shaded abortions. The music could be modernized and I'd have no problem. But leave the art alone unless it can be done exactly right.

@Yaridovichz No offense, but I'm 17 right now, and I absolutely adore retro games such as the old Final Fantasy games, and ofcourse Chrono Trigger! In fact, all these new games coming out mean squat to me, since most of them lack proper gameplay and are more focused on unimporant issues such as graphics. I'd be afraid of any remake that doesn't use sprites. I love the way the game looks and never want to see it changed. But yeah, I would love to hear instrumental tracks in place of midis.
Like I said, I don't want to see it remade, but Dragon Quest 8 looks like his artwork.

Not only Magus Theme has more spirit than Sephiroth's... Magus has much more background, you know about him even before you face him, and people fear and the monster legion loves him. For Sephiroth, he just comes out of nowhere to beat a hero that also comes out of nowhere (Cloud).
Perhaps I read too much into it, but I always viewed it as Magus (anti-hero he is) did Frog a favor in a back-handed way. By turning Glenn into Frog, Magus made it possible for Glenn to be what Cyrus always saw in him. Again, thinking too much. Anyway, just wanted to say how awesome this arrangement is! Great work!

Speaking as a die-hard Sephiroth fan, I prefer Magus' theme. Magus has the better motive and passion since they down-graded Sephiroth's. (Don't get me started *grumbles*) As for music wise? How could you not think that Chrono Trigger's music was amazing? Uematsu did the music for Chrono Trigger heaven's sake! It's just as beautiful, to me, as any Final Fantasy's.. it 'fits' better than FF7s. The best FF music is actually VI, but Chrono Trigger is my RPG soundtrack of choice in the CD player.

Did I say that? I absolutely adore FF7. I adore CT. I love Magus as much as Sephiroth, my favorite is Psaro from DQIV to be technical. My point was the music was crafted by the same man. Period. I was not putting you down like you say and it really irks me that you make assumptions about me. I did not attack you, so don't attack me. I was refering to the 'fit' of the music. FF7s doesn't 'fit' as well as CT to my ear. That's a personal preference. My first CD I ever bought was the FF7 soundtrack.
And yes, speaking FOR MYSELF, I am a die-hard fan of Sephiroth. I loved everything about him until they made him 'totally evil' with no logical modivation. That, however, does not diminish the awesomeness of his theme. I like Magus' theme far better, personally. As simplistic as it is, it evokes a totally diffrent feeling. It's suble menance, unlike Sephiroth's which you pick out with the first cords. This is PERSONAL preference. As is yours. I agree to dissagree and leave it at that.

I'm pretty sure Magus is the most powerful character in the game, if you don't count Ayla's Lv99 fist. 9999 in one hit without using a combo is a rare thing in Tiggamajig.
Yeah, you need the black rock for his combo, "Dark Eternal". I haven't managed to complete it, yet, though, because I haven't gotten "Dark Matter" for Magus, yet...

I don't think ff12 was a fail, it was a diferent ff12, so better get used to it lol.
Also ff7 for me is not the best ff out there just cuze 1 of the main characters died and omg its so sad lol.
Legend of dragoon is 1 of the best rpgs out there too, same wth lunar series and lost odyssey.
FF4 was good, but is not even near to ff8 and 9 ^^

Not only Magus Theme has more spirit than Sephiroth's... Magus has much more background, you know about him even before you face him, and people fear and the monster legion loves him. For Sephiroth, he just comes out of nowhere to beat a hero that also comes out of nowhere (Cloud).

Perhaps I read too much into it, but I always viewed it as Magus (anti-hero he is) did Frog a favor in a back-handed way. By turning Glenn into Frog, Magus made it possible for Glenn to be what Cyrus always saw in him. Again, thinking too much. Anyway, just wanted to say how awesome this arrangement is! Great work!

Speaking as a die-hard Sephiroth fan, I prefer Magus' theme. Magus has the better motive and passion since they down-graded Sephiroth's. (Don't get me started *grumbles*) As for music wise? How could you not think that Chrono Trigger's music was amazing? Uematsu did the music for Chrono Trigger heaven's sake! It's just as beautiful, to me, as any Final Fantasy's.. it 'fits' better than FF7s. The best FF music is actually VI, but Chrono Trigger is my RPG soundtrack of choice in the CD player.

Did I say that? I absolutely adore FF7. I adore CT. I love Magus as much as Sephiroth, my favorite is Psaro from DQIV to be technical. My point was the music was crafted by the same man. Period. I was not putting you down like you say and it really irks me that you make assumptions about me. I did not attack you, so don't attack me. I was refering to the 'fit' of the music. FF7s doesn't 'fit' as well as CT to my ear. That's a personal preference. My first CD I ever bought was the FF7 soundtrack.

And yes, speaking FOR MYSELF, I am a die-hard fan of Sephiroth. I loved everything about him until they made him 'totally evil' with no logical modivation. That, however, does not diminish the awesomeness of his theme. I like Magus' theme far better, personally. As simplistic as it is, it evokes a totally diffrent feeling. It's suble menance, unlike Sephiroth's which you pick out with the first cords. This is PERSONAL preference. As is yours. I agree to dissagree and leave it at that.

I'm pretty sure Magus is the most powerful character in the game, if you don't count Ayla's Lv99 fist. 9999 in one hit without using a combo is a rare thing in Tiggamajig.

I love that song it's so dark, so eery that it fills you with a feeling of power when you play or hear it. I have been playing the piano for only 7 years now but I hope to play longer still. I wish I had the sheet music to learn this song, my brother would love me dearly for it:P
