Its similar to a piano in its construction, except where a piano strikes the strings to make the tone, the hapsichord "plucks" the strings instead to create a more crisp sound. It was most used during the Reneissance and Baroque periods, the latter to which Vivaldi belonged.

God, this video was absolutely stunning! I don't know if it is exactly animation, but it kind of is at the same time. The artist knows so much about how to manipulate the picture; the part where its the mother and child, and then her face changes in just a few placements of the sand is brilliant- totally changes the mood. Very simple, yet totally intelligent.

when i was a little kid, my mom had ' the four seasons' on cassette , and I would do weird interpretive dance to it for hours , using the couch and chairs, and table as a trampoline. (LOL - I was real little and the furniture was tacky -so she didn't mind too much. ) Summer was my favorite one ...however I thought it was about a fox or a rabbit being hunted by dogs and men on horseback- I didn't realize it was about a storm until I was much older..

this song interprets the silence before the storm with slow harmonic parts, where in between the storm starts up, then it goes back to harmony and then the storm beginns with fast and very rythmic playing

@oranus11 Are you referring to Vivaldi? Because it goes without saying that anything from Four Seasons is the Pop music of the time, while all the better composers remain unheard of for the most part. Don't get me wrong though - Vivaldi is amazing, I was just curious what your statement means.

@oranus11 @SriDys I agree with SriDys. I mean, pop could be any music that hits people's ears. Pop stands for popular. This song, along with Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, and Bach stands right next to Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, Justin Bieber, and every single artist that is known by most.
What sets music apart from pop and you though, is if it touches your heart in a certain way to you, then brother, that is your music to listen to. There is no "bad" or "good" music. It's all about taste. :-)
