Germans are the best people in the world, and I'm glad they rebuke any people who want to go back to the '40's. The English are good people too, I think they'd get along.
Exactly how it is. One side has families and friends who send letters home about the cause and the other side does the same. If the men on the front lines could find that out about each other, then maybe the crap would have stopped sooner. If only Christmas 1914 had ended the war.
@spaceman1979 In World War 2 it wasn't about siding with Russia. Germany invaded country after country and the French needed assistance. Then after the British and French forces were forced to evacuate continental Europe, Germany violated the non-aggression pact they had with Russia. Hitler hated Communists. It wasn't so much anyone liking or helping Russia, it was more about stopping the Nazi's.
mainly since Lenin had offered support, we had never expected that fool Stalin to attack us in the Cold war. He ruined Russia and ruined Communism. it is NOT bad, STALINISM is bad. Communism is mis-understood, if more people understood Lenin's way of thinking, perhaps Stalin wouldn't have gotten into power and made Russia a bankrupt state.

This film is called Winter of 1914. World War II did not start until 1939, which leads me to believe the movie is based on the first World War.
Either way, in World War II, we fought Germany because of Hitler. We had plenty a good reason for that.
