I would buy the Swiss Frank, Aussie and Canadian dollar if Obama is reelected. They understand that government is the problem

It's not about jobs, it's about retooling production capacity to make desirable economic goods. If they were pvt sector jobs, then there's a chance to meet that goal. But, the majority were pub sector jobs. At best, the stimulus shifted economic goods from one sector to another without compensating exchange. At worst, there's a net loss of real economic production capacity because of the absence of the profit motive in the pub sector.

I am afraid that the stimulus plan not only failed (based on the unemployment rate as of 10/10), but put us $900B more in debt. I think the national debt is a serious issue. Once the Fed can not longer keep our bond yields artificially low, the interest payments on the debt will crush future budgets. @MrJamylephillips Yup, that's why today Aug. 26, housing sales are down 26% in Missouri, my house is worth 36% less than when I bought it 10 years ago. So I'm stuck with it as I can't sell it for what is owed on it, let alone what I paid for it. Yeah, the stimulus worked real well, Unemployment would not go above 85, it now stands at 9.7% in Missouri and is expected to top 10%, again, this week. If bankrupting the country is right, then it is on track to be a resounding success.

To say ALL their suppliers would have gone out business enough to cause Ford to be unable to make cars, is a line of BS. Ford's market share would have risen much higher than it already has and those 3rd party companies would be fine in the long run. Fact is if GM and Chrysler were allowed to declare bankruptcy under normal bankruptcy law they would be much better competitors.

The reason why the stimulus hasn't solved much (anything is a bit harsh) is because 1). 40% were in the forms of tax cuts, which really don't help all that much and 2). because the stimulus was far too small. It probably should have been up around $3 trillion to have a massive, almost immediate impact.

It's not about jobs, it's about retooling production capacity to make desirable economic goods. If they were pvt sector jobs, then there's a chance to meet that goal. But, the majority were pub sector jobs. At best, the stimulus shifted economic goods from one sector to another without compensating exchange. At worst, there's a net loss of real economic production capacity because of the absence of the profit motive in the pub sector.

If anyone really cares about their country they will end this stupifying conservative fevor that started after 9/11. Not all republicans are bad and not all democrats are good for this nation. I am afraid that the stimulus plan not only failed (based on the unemployment rate as of 10/10), but put us $900B more in debt. I think the national debt is a serious issue. Once the Fed can not longer keep our bond yields artificially low, the interest payments on the debt will crush future budgets. I recommend "Why We Are In So Much Debt" for a succinct explanation of our monetary problem.

So I'm stuck with it as I can't sell it for what is owed on it, let alone what I paid for it. 1. The government loaned the money to the banks and have been paid back in full with interest.
2. The government loaned the money to GM, who has paid it back in full with interest. If that had not been done there would be no more GM and Ford said it would have gone bankrupt too. That would mean there would be no american owned car companies in the world. You can thank Obama that the auto industry has rebounded.

The bailout was a huge success, saving the american auto industry. The stimulus package saved well more than 3 million jobs. To say ALL their suppliers would have gone out business enough to cause Ford to be unable to make cars, is a line of BS. Ford's market share would have risen much higher than it already has and those 3rd party companies would be fine in the long run. Fact is if GM and Chrysler were allowed to declare bankruptcy under normal bankruptcy law they would be much better competitors.

The reason why the stimulus hasn't solved much (anything is a bit harsh) is because 1). 40% were in the forms of tax cuts, which really don't help all that much and 2). because the stimulus was far too small. It probably should have been up around $3 trillion to have a massive, almost immediate impact.

Hey Jrebstock, I wouldn't normally waste any time on the undereducated, but I'll try. The ideology that every American would have the right to a home, and the Freddie and Fannie toxic assets that were guaranteed by the government, and the Obama/Social ideology that the poor should be able to afford better housing ALLOWED, and exponentially increased the risk of a CDS industry failure, causing the bulk of the collapse. But I am never shocked when "Bush Tax Rhetoric Talking Point's" are spewed.

Hey Obama Biden, how much money have you made in the market? What do you have compared to Cramer? Where was this criticism when he was saying the same things about Bush? Is it the job of the administration to single out journalists? Maybe Obama can make him dissapear like they do in russia? I haven't been able to invest b/c as a minority i have to work twice as hard and dont get equal pay. It's racist republican s like you we can thank for that... anyway, I'm sure if id followed cramers advice I'd have lost half of everything I earned in this recent market crash. But a lot of racists like you just can't stand the idea of a black man being president.

Too bad Cramer has to play the court jester most of the time to get people to listen to him. A year or two from now when the economy turns around, Cramer will be switching sides and kissing some ass, saying what a genius the whole stim package was. Cramer is an idiot. This country has a long history of recessions and they aren't fixed in 3 months. It often takes years. Cramers ratings are down, so that is why he is walking around all depressed.

Ur right buddy. This guy is a joke. He is spending money like crazy. Bailing out GM, which is destined to be dead shortly. (and other banks obviously) and trying to befriend GM union which itself is responsible for its downfall. Construction projects is the only plan that makes lil sense. He blames bush for spending money on Iraq and tripled the monetary aid given to pakistan=$5bn per year. He is actually doing even worse than bush.
