i was 8 years old when i first rode this ride, and the race issue never even occured to me until damn near a decade later. race wont stop being an issue till everyone quits making such a big fucking deal over it
I went to Disney World and I me and my family were chosen to cut the line of any line we wanted so we chose this... saved us 2 hours lol. A lot of people were upset that we cut in front of them.. but what the heck lol.
Sad how the young one can enjoy the characters displayed in this ride but are forbidden to put them into context. Watch it through with your children and promote the merits of friendship when we need it most.. Uncle Remis and his stories are an answered prayer in the life of this sad little boy in the absence of his father. I wish we had more thought ful movies like this today
This ride and space mountain tie as my favorite rides at Disney. Too bad my friends don't like getting wet and I always seem to go on this ride alone.
Wow the ride looks really pretty at night! However, The final drop looks terrifying because its dark and u cant see properly. But the view from the top with all the lights look amazing. Shame you only have a second to see it before you drop 60ft or whatever it is lol. :S looks fun though.
From what know in the film some part about a 'tar baby' that was offensive toward black people. That and some of the language(a term dat blacks call each other, but hate it when a white guy says it).
But times have changed since then,if Disney released Song of the South again the USA now they probably won't get that harsh remarks.

Uncle Remus sounds like Isaac Hayes. It wouldve been cool if it was him. god rest his soul

Very true! But no one can do Uncle Remus like James Baskett!!

Accusations of racism,
From what know in the film some part about a 'tar baby' that was offensive toward black people. That and some of the language(a term dat blacks call each other, but hate it when a white guy says it).

@aberdeenfc1983 It didn't get banned.

I totally think the same.
1cutebrerfox 2 years ago 4
no offence to blacks but i think its a bit pathetic on how they can call each other but wen a white person says something they play the race card:(
dizzeeswift 2 years ago 5
@ToaHannah007 It never got banned. Disney chose not to release it.

@TheAmericanMedley How come? I'm still a little confused with why they won't re-release Song of the South. It seems like a fine movie.
ZNKChannel 10 months ago
@ZNKChannel Many people found it controversial for different scenes such as The Tar Baby and Uncle Remus' character himself.
