In many of the Arab Muslim countries the leaders do not follow the religion in that they will rape and then kill the woman they raped. This goes against the rights that are given by Allah to women. This is why there are so many protests in Muslim countries. Quran says killing is haram. Hadith say lots of things but Hadith which you are referring to are less than Quran.

Now if you want to ban music for yourself that is fine but without any explicit dalil (proof) you can not make this a hudjra on the ummah.

Furthermore, the ulema have not dealt with music in any categorical way primarily because it was not a subject of serious concern. I quoted Ibn Hazm (ra) because someone who is a serious student of Islam knows who he was. You can not approach the Hadith except through a madhab or esle you get confusion. Like we have on this subject.

Turkey is a great example of secular and democratic islamic country. In many of the Arab Muslim countries the leaders do not follow the religion in that they will rape and then kill the woman they raped. This goes against the rights that are given by Allah to women. There is a hadeeth from the prophet pbuh that means that musicians are sinners . but the interpretations of that hadeeth differ in arabic . although the majority of islam scientists agree it is haram . but some say it is not . so u could either try to avoid it and be on the safe side or do whatever you want .

@scofieldgangster, the Quran does not say anything about that, but our prophet does. Music is not haram, but the instruments ARE. Besides the drums, instruments such as the flute, guitar, electronic synthesizer, etc. are haram. Its is in the hadith, the sayings and actions of prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Anyone who says music is haram doesnt know his deen. Also, computers are not haram and computer generated sounds are most often responsible for the cd's that are out today. I have found being a muslim has put me in a situation whereas I see there is more ignorance amongst the muslim people as a whole. I thank Allah for being born in America where I had a choice to choose my relationship with the creator. For African Americans hip hop is a vehicle of expression (self) expression. Salaam.

@sadiq53 prophet muhammad said there will be a day when alcohol,wearing of silk of men,and MUSICAL instruments will be permissible.. theres another hadith where he tells us that molten lava will be poured down the ears of those who indulged n the listening of music..how could something be permissible but yet you get punished in the hell fire because of it.

@hendersoncnc The renown scholar Ibn Hazm (ra) and others who can not all be mentioned here have already shown those hadith to be unreliable (dyf). There is no explicit prohibition on music by Allah and His Messenger and there is italaf (difference) of opinion among the ulema over what even these hadith mean. These are the facts. Now if you want to ban music for yourself that is fine but without any explicit dalil (proof) you can not make this a hudjra on the ummah.

@hendersoncnc There's no explicit prohibition on music in the authentic hadith. On contrary there are hadith in Sahih Bukhari of its use in certain circumstances. Furthermore, the ulema have not dealt with music in any categorical way primarily because it was not a subject of serious concern. I quoted Ibn Hazm (ra) because someone who is a serious student of Islam knows who he was. You can not approach the Hadith except through a madhab or esle you get confusion. Like we have on this subject.
