You might also notice that the fuel alternatives that are mentioned from on high are ones that are a bit easier to control. Bio-fuels, which are terribly inefficient. Hydrogen, which still needs power to make it (like the sun). They need a type of fuel THEY can bottle.

Why are everyone shouting about Global Warming? It's Global Climate Change, or even better; Global Climate Instability. We in Sweden had a very cold winter this year, with up to -40°C, and hey; The believing in GLOBAL WARMING decreased. But the fact is, that the weather is going to be more extreme; When it rains, IT SURE RAINS, and when it's drought, some people will not survive it. So Global Climate Instability is making the change in seasons more extreme than we know it.

@StirItUP1973 450 million years ago there was ten times as much CO2 as there is today and the Earth was in the midst of the coldest period it has seen in the past half billion years. Across this geologic time frame there is no meaningful correlation between CO2 and temperature. That's not my opinion, it's a simple fact. Don't let my fellow scientists imply that you should believe whatever they say because you can't understand the issue. Inform yourself. Make up your own mind. :)

Co2's molecular weight is to high for it to rise to a possible "green house height" and even if it was, the idea that carbon is a pollutant is like saying human and animal life is a desease.

What you are saying makes no sense whatsoever - the ability to absorb and reflect energy is based on the structure of the molecule, not it's size. In this case the double pi bonds of CO2 make it a greenhouse gas. This particular issue (whether it is or is not a greenhouse gas) is not a point of debate, it is fact - do it in a lab.

@mannefyr19 All gases have a unique density, and that determines their concentrations at different altitudes. But because one gas is denser than another does not preclude it from existing above molecules of the "lighter" gas. Molecules don't work that way. Nitrogen gas is less dense than oxygen, yet it exists all the way up to the stratosphere, and at all levels in between at high concentrations. Gravity and density is only a small part of it - kinetic motion and collisions dictates the rest.
@mannefyr19 To the 2nd question, ozone depletion doesn't save us from global warming since the ozone contribution to global warming is minimal - the majority of what keeps our planet warm is a result of other gases - CO2, CH4, etc.
Ozone protects us from ultraviolet light by absorbing those high energy photons, and re-emitting them as something safer, like say, heat/infrared or even visible photons. That's why we should be worried about consuming our ozone layer - it protects us from UV.

When it comes to the ozone layer then i also know that it is very nesceseary to protect us from high energy radiation from the sun, and since i am from norway i know very well that this photon-absorbation being affected by the Earths magnetic field creates the beautiful northern lights or Auroras as they are called.

You see from 1900 untill 1940 the earth really started to heat up, then after the ww2 when the so called "post war economic boom" started and human made co2 really started to rose sky-high the earth cooled down for 20 years, and then the temperatures stood still for 15 years.

That is a childish argument. The general prediction is that there will be global climatic weirdness along the way. The weather will become extremely erratic (including, for instance, some extremely cold winters). Only when averaged over a longer time span which includes the temperature fluctuations will the growth be apparent.

We don't yet know exactly how much the climate will warm from the CO2 already in the air. There is a delay of several decades between forcing and final response. Until an equilibrium temperature is reached, present day observations will not tell us the exact value of the climate's sensitivity to CO2.

Across this geologic time frame there is no meaningful correlation between CO2 and temperature. That's not my opinion, it's a simple fact. I used to believe in man made global warming but now I am less sure. As I can not understand the science myself I have to trust the scientists but after the leaked emails here in the UK I do not trust them anymore. Also these so called experts warned us of Y2K and were wrong, the weapons of mass descruction in Iraq again they were wrong and mass death from sars and they were wrong.

@salvadory except the fact that mosts climatologists say global warming is a very slow and NATURAL process, humans have little to no affect on it. The permafrost is not melting, parts of glaciers melted slightly because of the natural pendulum swing of global temperature, not increase in CO2

What you are saying makes no sense whatsoever - the ability to absorb and reflect energy is based on the structure of the molecule, not it's size. In this case the double pi bonds of CO2 make it a greenhouse gas. This particular issue (whether it is or is not a greenhouse gas) is not a point of debate, it is fact - do it in a lab.

@mannefyr19 All gases have a unique density, and that determines their concentrations at different altitudes. But because one gas is denser than another does not preclude it from existing above molecules of the "lighter" gas. Molecules don't work that way. Nitrogen gas is less dense than oxygen, yet it exists all the way up to the stratosphere, and at all levels in between at high concentrations. Gravity and density is only a small part of it - kinetic motion and collisions dictates the rest.

@mannefyr19 To the 2nd question, ozone depletion doesn't save us from global warming since the ozone contribution to global warming is minimal - the majority of what keeps our planet warm is a result of other gases - CO2, CH4, etc.
Ozone protects us from ultraviolet light by absorbing those high energy photons, and re-emitting them as something safer, like say, heat/infrared or even visible photons. That's why we should be worried about consuming our ozone layer - it protects us from UV.

When it comes to the ozone layer then i also know that it is very nesceseary to protect us from high energy radiation from the sun, and since i am from norway i know very well that this photon-absorbation being affected by the Earths magnetic field creates the beautiful northern lights or Auroras as they are called.

You see from 1900 untill 1940 the earth really started to heat up, then after the ww2 when the so called "post war economic boom" started and human made co2 really started to rose sky-high the earth cooled down for 20 years, and then the temperatures stood still for 15 years.

That is a childish argument. The general prediction is that there will be global climatic weirdness along the way. The weather will become extremely erratic (including, for instance, some extremely cold winters). Only when averaged over a longer time span which includes the temperature fluctuations will the growth be apparent.

Earthquakes concern the earth's crust and not weather. Pompei simply had a volcano eruption and is not relevant.

We don't yet know exactly how much the climate will warm from the CO2 already in the air. There is a delay of several decades between forcing and final response. Until an equilibrium temperature is reached, present day observations will not tell us the exact value of the climate's sensitivity to CO2.
