For the readers of this book, try 'The Revolt Of The Elites, And The Betrayal OF Democracy' by Christopher Lasch. It's a bit harder to read, but still worth while, especially when you consider what happens with the wealth of the top 10-25%, not just the top 2%.

Howard Zinns book "A power governmnts cannot suppress" truly changed my life. Was looking for another book and its title just made me open it. I would suggest this book over any of the others.
I would respect him more if his philosophy of non violence extended to great leaps and five year plans, Jacobin hysteria's, holocausts, and all purges committed by the many against the few.
