You can't find one single veteran among the "patriotic" Republican/Conservative pundits on the radio/TV, why are they all so cowardly, but so pro war?
Oh, and the whole "support the troops" campaign waged by the right wing (few of who were ever soldiers) is a marketing ploy to get you to support the war via the soldier. It goes like this: You might hate the war or get tired of it, but don't say so because then you are not supporting the troops.
If you truly supported the troops, you'd do your best to keep them out of unnecessary wars of ambition and get them out as soon as you realized the futility of an adventure like Iraq.
Actually, Olberman has been beating O'Reilly with regularity in the ratings.
As far as what the soldiers respect, those that do probably don't know that Fox and O'Reilly were the main cheerleaders for the war, claiming that Saddam had nukes and that the war would take a week at most. Now they can't back out. Fox doesn't back the soldier, it backs using war as a political weapon and a get-rich quick scheme for Republican backers. If soldiers have to die for that, so be it, they say.
He has been in combat as a journalist-those wars were very brutal with all the guerilla warfare-a few journalists lots their lives, in fact one was executed in a video that's on youtube.
Al Franken is a failed comedian and a failed radio host. His network (Air America) went bankrupt largely because he couldn't carry any audience. Nobody wants to listen to a liar-he even lied in his book and said that O'Reilly didn't grow up in Levittown, when in fact he did. He is a liar, and thats it.
bill makes ridiculous false claims, and when someone points out his bullshit, bill instead of admiting how wrong he was, just goes and insults the guy like some inbred kid.
how can he assert that mister macho man has never come close to anything that he's done, where he's been? How does he know that guy wasn't in the military?
Yeah, but originally O' Reilly was talking crap about catching an enemy, looking in the eye, life or death, and all that. Reporters don't catch anybody HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!
You bring up a good point however I disagree with you for two reasons.
He was trying to play it off as if he was a warrior. As the listener pointed out people might think he was actually in the military.
Bill O'Reilly is hardly a war reporter. I don't care enough about the issue to look up the facts. But the fact that he has seen "a couple" of firefights hardly qualifies him to speak about the nature of combat from a soldiers perspective especially.
Didn't make a big deal about it-he went because he has a political news show (unlike Franken) and only reported on the interviews he did. When O'Reilly left, nobody knew he did and the viewers just assumed it was a vacation.
The soldiers line up to see O'Reilly-in fact it was reported that General Petraeus barely got the crowd O'Reilly did. The soldiers respect him because they know he is rooting for them, and has had the guts to step into conflict himself. Trust me, soldiers respect that.
Well that Air Americas fault - Your a yank, you should that if your no bum-loving your country; saying you love where you should be pausig for breath, then your not going to get very far.
Actually none of us prefer this stuff on fox. I don't actually know anyone who likes this guy, his show or this network. I do not know where this channel gets it's money cause seriously i dunno anyone who actually likes this show. And I LIVE in a red state.
Fox News are quite big on the cable news scene. It's all owned by Rupert Murdoch via News Corp. They own 20th Century Fox, Fox Broadcasting Company and Fox News (plus more abroad). So next time you go watch a 20th Century Fox movie in the cinema, keep in mind that you are indirectly supporting Fox News and O'Reilly.

those are called firefights. Combat is major military operations in which he didnt pick up a rifle and fight.
Deryckwhibleyfan08 3 years ago
those werent declared wars though and he didnt fight!
Deryckwhibleyfan08 3 years ago
Franken rules. O'Reilly, covering a shoot out in Central/South America is not combat. Combat is WWII, Nam, Iraq, Afghanistan, and so on....

This is the most FUNNIEST thing I've ever heard from this O'Reilly cartoon.
A caller gives him an honest question and he gets angry HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!11

O'Reilly . . . he'd run from an elementary school student armed with a balloon on a stick . . .
Combat? Bwahahahahahaahahahahah
jackster1965 3 years ago 2
What this? He explained that he was in combat as a reporter. Many reporters have been killed in combat zones in Iraq.
Has libtard Al been over there in the danger zone? Don't think so yet he makes fun of someone who has?? What a jerk.

Actually, Al has been to Iraq to entertain the troops many times. Didn't play politics or advertise the trips.
O'Reilly went once. Made a big deal about it.
