  • GIVE IT TO ME! I am exstatic.

  • simply amazing

  • Refreshing.

  • My favorite season.

  • I'm 15, and I find this to be so amazing. Its great to listen to while studying. (:

  • haha i love that even classical music pages are full of raged up idiots... *rolls eyes*, only on youtube...

  • @toolworks Where?

  • I'm not into classical music at all.

    But g'damn, this is beautiful.

  • @demifani88 I'm sorry, it's palestrina

  • @demifani88 look up palestrena.

  • im srry even thou i love all 4 seasons vivaldi wrote summer is the one i like the least

  • Viva Vivaldi...

  • Bravo!!

  • Nice song!! *-* classic 4rever!!

  • wow i feel smarter...

  • This is a masterpiece. Vivaldi captured the essence of each season and still integrated them all together throughout the whole symphony.

  • can you shut up and play the fucking music

  • lol amusing google subtitles :)

  • I like Yanni's version as well :P

But this one is the origin 4 sure

  • its the greatest art to control an instrument but to make such music like vivaldi...there´re no words to describe...awesome...amazing...wonderfulll...all the beauty of the world

  • the voice of gandalf from the bbc's adaptation of lord of the rings...memories

  • VIVALDI PWNS!!!

  • wybitne, utwór i wykonanie

  • Oh he wasn't good sorry

  • EPIC !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    <3 Vivaldi's stuff.

  • the voice of gandalf on the bbcs version of the lord of the rings??? so many childhood memories remembered from hearing that voice

  • This is one of my favourites out of the Four Seasons. Something so passionate in the sparse notes at the beginning. <3

  • i think the biggest musician is vivaldi.

  • mozart kinda blows him out of the water dude... sorry

  • I would chose Vivaldi over Mozart. Evryone likes Mozart so much because he was a prodigy. I would pick Vivaldi over Mozart because the music of a prodigy always sounds so lazy

  • It's crazy to compare Mozart and Vivaldi. You don't need to search the best: each of them is the best one! The sense is a music. Just listen it. There's no sense to compare, because the Music will always win.

  • Comparing Baroque to romantic is like comparing vista to windows 7 one is the product of the others shedded flaws.

  • Comparing Baroque to romantic is like comparing sculpture to painting, they're two different arts and none is better than the other. It's a matter of opinion.

  • Romantic is an improvement from Baroque in my opinion; more expression, more bending of boundaries, more passion.

  • @MrsEurope Yes, and they're both from two different eras. Just appreciate them as wonderful music that can never be usurped!

  • @MrsEurope well said

  • @MrsEurope baroque vs classic. I am lost. How can one compare the two... lol

  • VIVALDI ORGOGLIO ITALIANO

  • Its cool to see so many talented people playing simultaneuously in cooperation on the same instrument. I love how the soloist doesn't neccessarily synchonize a change in notes with a change in stroke of the bow.. indeed can sustain a note through a change in direction.. Very cool.

  • i dont see pianos like that anymore

  • It's a harpsichord.

  • lol WOW. Well you are kinda close but I'm sure during that age the Harpsichord was still being used, but I'm sure what you call "Medieval stuff" would be called Folk music nowadays, not entirely sure just correct me if I'm wrong.

  • Traditional folk music is (by in large) is music that did not come from the pen of the great composers. Folk music music was the music of the poorer classes such as Gypsies, tradesmen, and journeymen. It wasn't written down but passed on from generation to generation. Because of this many variations of a tune or song emerged and the name of the composer forgotten. Remember the majority of the poor classes were illiterate. The music was not multilayered as this came about with notation.

  • heh your right man

  • great one, thanks for the upload.

  • Amazing, is very beautiful!!!!!!

  • yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • wonderfull!!!

  • The poetry prior to the piece is quite lovely.

  • They are called sonnets and were used by Vivaldi.

  • @DrMontague may i know which sonnet is that and from whom?

  • @rhonin93 Though it is not known who wrote these sonnets, there is a theory that Vivaldi wrote them himself. Simply use wikipedia for more info.

  • @DrMontague Did he write them? When I was searching for them I couldn't find a source that was certain if Vivaldi wrote them or not.

  • @Bshow1212 We simply don't know who wrote the sonnets but Vivalldi definately used them. Some verses are straight out of the Hebrew bible e.g.'For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven:..'Ecclesiates Chapter 3

  • T' is man have a beautiful voice

  • This song sounds very similar to some ones played in the PS2 game "Shadow of Colossus", a game that have won prizes by its soundtrack wich is made totally by an orchestra.

  • anyone know where to find free music sheet for summer violin solo?

  • IMSLP

  • It's in my pants. Would you like to see?

  • 3:21 he wants to gesture something...

  • ha ha its really funny if you keep clicking the time on ur comment over and over again. hey ramond! quit flippn me the bird!

  • 2:50 briliant

  • no, definitivamente no

  • ¿No qué?

  • 2:00

  • What is the keyboard-like instrument called that is shown at 2:19?

  • Harpsichord.

  • in my language (portuguese), it's called "cravo"...I don't know its name in english, sorry :/

  • Hapsichord, it´ve already been answered

  • piano??

  • It's a pick-piano they played at the time of Baroque. not the ordinary piano of our time, which is played by hitting its strings with hammers. this "piano" can't produce sound in shifting velocities as you might notice, i find it quite interesting

  • the only thig rong with this is that there is not enough space between each 16th

  • ecepcional lo mejor de la musica antonio vivaldi sera eterno no expirara jamas ante lo que venga permanecera eterno lo grande nunca sera pequeño.

  • I dont think u can really judge as u have never heared me play. I was just giving my musical opinion, that's all, no need for insults.

  • lo mejor

  • i bet you don't play better than they!

  • dichimanju ynugennif shohom go kagn siunj sahiang ngarim jush nehef ut naar sihy sihyuo qa nam. kooi, nokom LATARJMI UUO gemim nusufi?!

  • This performance was AVERAGE. The soloist didn't think about the musicality of the piece, or how this piece is from the Baroque era. Lacked rubato at vital times, dynmaics, were dull, need to vary more at certain parts. The notes however at c.5:30 were played in the baroque style. Plus, the soloist was dull to watch, no movement.

  • Will you please suggest me a good version of this piece? Thanks..

  • I haven't played the violin for a few years now, and have forgotten a lot of terminology. Could you please remind me what "rubato" means? Which instrument do you play? Here are the technical terms I DO remember:

spiccato--bouncing the bow on the string

pizzicato--plucking the strings with your right-hand finger

vibrato--vibrating your finger to give prolonged notes a warm feeling

    staccato--playing with short, separate strokes

leggato--playing with smooth, long, connected slurs

  • Rubato is when the player doesn't stick strictly to the beat, they can slow down and spead up at their pleasure.

  • LOL 4:02 the female in the background. zombie much?

  • are they asleep?

  • çok iyiler ya..bravo bravo bravo

  • In my opinion, this feels more like autumn, than his autumn piece. I can see blustery wind, and falling leaves with this.

But I feel that his winter is spot on.

  • The summer movements were a suprise to me. I didn't think they were summery as in summer my part of the world (Southern England) but if Vivaldi was trying to convey sultry heat and the feeling of lethargy experienced with heat and humidity and the brooding thunderstorms then the movements are spot on.

  • interesting point

  • Very beautiful playing with the Strings!!!

5 Stars for your clip!!! Benno Wienands

  • this song is really beautiful

  • piece of music not song

  • GAY is NOT a synonym for stupid!!!!!!!

if you really listen to the beggining, granted, it's kinda weird, it sets the mood for the peice

  • very blah, sorry, that's my opinion

  • the 2 notes at 5:29-30, 5:32-33, and 5:37-38 that each go down half-steps shouldnt be that slow...they're written as grace notes...

but thats just being nitpicky at an amazing performance

  • they should be appoggiaturas so thats an acceptable speed

  • i like vivaldi autum i

    ;]

  • naa Mozart Rulees!!

but oo lovee this too :D

  • Vivaldi rulez but i love Mozart too:D

  • bach is better ^-^

  • Hmm yes...yes he is good...but i wouldn't say better:P

  • lol..ok theyre all great

  • That's right:))

  • what instrument do you play?

  • None...why do you ask?

  • Increible, this is pure power.

  • GO CAPULETS!!!

  • MONTAGUES!!

  • No, CAPULETS!!

  • SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Vivaldi RULES!!!

  • I like how they read Vivaldi's description of the song (it was Vivaldi's description wasn't it?) I thought the largo was a bit fast but each to his own I suppose. Good stuff.

  • a poor recording but good performance

  • so delicious ! exquisite...

  • Beautiful!

  • NICELY EXECUTED.

  • Vivaldi is my fav.;) he's the master!

  • excellend

  • "t"

  • who cares

  • Grammar teachers.

  • lol, spelling teachers, not grammar

  • You get the freaking point. "Typo's" We all have them sometimes. I was just a bit b*tchy the time i wrote the comment. No offense.

  • uhhh, perhaps my last comment was a joke???

  • pancakes95 and finius95 are the same person. LOL

  • Oh wait... with the sonnet I just got it. Holy shit, thats encapsulation of essence and elements...

  • This is my favourite piece of music ever. I love others but this was the first and blew me away. Never will I get her and never will I want to, for she is so much more than I am and I would never wish to reduce her to my level.

  • vivaldi is one of the best composer in the history. Only Bach and Beethoven reach the gods...

  • I disagree.

  • Why should anyone gie bad marks to a person who has another opinion. Surely we all have our favorites. One should be able to express an opinion without being castigated for it. Let's all be kind and considerate. We can do that, can't we?

  • Why should anyone negatively comment on someone's negative mark. Like you said, one should be able to express an opinion.

If I could thumbs up that negative marker, I would, purely because he expressed his own opinion.

  • u forgot mozart, he was the actuall child, prodigy it was the reason beethovens father made him play music, to be like mozart.

  • hey, what is the guy reading in the beginning of each song???

  • They are called sonnets. This is how the four seasons is supposed to be performed.Check Vivaldi out on Wikipedia for more information.

  • Vivaldi.....

    no need any other words,

  • exelent music.

  • Attention*

  • Link has been removed.

  • np man, excellent post!

  • thank you for uploading this. Utterly magnificent!

  • JUST GREAT!!!!

  • É simplismente maravilhoso.

  • oh my i didnt know there was a harpsichord in this :o

  • the piece is different from other summer 1 videos in youtube...

  • This is because theres 3 movements of the summer concerto, what you hear is most likely the third movement, this is the first movement.

  • Ah, Vivaldi with the charm we all love. ;)

  • If you like an upbeat version of this masterpiece look up "Yanni - The Storm" on you tube or for Masterpiece Remixes try a game on xbox live arcade called "BOOM BOOM ROCKET" awsome classical REMIXES :)

  • First time I listened to "Summer I" Vivaldi was truly a master.

  • ah....THE MASTER VIVALDI!!!!

  • I still Think spring is the best the winter then Fall then this ..........summer Spring is The Greatest of all!!

  • that was way too fast.. well well..

  • the piano in this video is real cool!! it has black natural keys and white sharp keys!!

  • Come on, you're kidding right? That's not a piano, it is a harpsichord!

  • It's supposed 2 be a harpsichord you geniuse thats wat they used originaly when vivaldi was creating it

  • And their guitars are really radical - s-like holes, and they be bowin them axes. Somebody should show this to Eddy VanHalen.

  • guitars? were did u get guitars from? their are no guitars in this. and were did u get axes from?

  • er no offense, but do you feel alright? there are no guitars in this heituzi... and if you're talking about those brown things that have holes in them.. that's a cello not a guitar...

  • are you hi ?

  • The guy with the glasses plays that banjo well :)

  • The piano was invented at the beginning of the 18th century, and it took a long time to make it popular. Vivaldi died in 1741. So I don't think Vivaldi had the time to know the piano and use it in his compositions. It's a harpsichord.

  • Vivaldi is one of my favorites

  • i love this song. i agree, this is the best of the four. but it was a bit fast. anyways, it's wonderful

  • u love this piece. a song is sung, a piece is played.

  • HOW CAN WE FEEL ALL OF THIS BEAUTY

  • The summer is the best season!! he plays it well(just like me :P) but i think it shouldn't be so mechanical... but it's great :)

  • the best for me in the 4seasons

  • Summer always moves my soul and comforts me inside

    Thank-you

  • would have been better with perlman playing it

  • I love the violin =)

  • i love vivaldi. it sonds soo powerfull. just amazing

  • amazing, beautiful song, very well played

  • it's not a song, it's a piece. Songs are sung, pieces are played...fyi

  • i like that.."Songs are sung, pieces are played." But remember its more than played it is the music behind vivaldis sonnet that the man in the beginning played.

  • This is beautiful

  • Thanks for posting. I have been searching for a good version some time now.
