Thanks for a nice review, covers all the angles & in English which is where I am! Been a biker all my life, last being a Harley but just need something smaller now. Looks like a lot of fun.
If Honda considered this scooter important to the American market it should be a 150cc to be freeway legal. But I think they wanted the 100mpg ads more.
Nice review! Is this an american model? i bought one in septembem and in portugal we don´t ha a kill switch, but a stop and go instead. it works realy god and is great for saving gas. mine is doing 2.2lt for 100klm... don´t know how much that is in miles to gallns...
@Topxe Yes a Ninja 250 is the same price, but you're getting a great fully modern scooter for this price. The Ninja is a lot of old tech wrapped in new plastic. No doubt it's still a great motorcycle but the CBR250R is a better comparison to the PCX I think. Still, you want a scooter or a motorcycle for different reasons.
haha. video with an iphone. no, but this is a good review. I'm hoping to get my M-class when i turn 15, and my parents want my first motorcycle to either be a scooter or a dirtbike.
Thanks! It's a great starter.... I did decide to go trade it in for something bigger. I'll do a review on it the next sunny day. It's a kymco xciting 250. It's a big step up in size and weight alone. You could likely get a PCx or something similar off of craigslist, nows a good time of the year to catch sells or people wanting to get rid of them instead of storing them for the winter.
I could had got a sh150 for around the same price, I guess it looked more like a traditional scooter than the pcx and that steered me away. Plus the pcx claimed better gas mileage. I drive mine pegged out at 60 most of the time, so my gas mileage isn't as good as claimed. I'm still happy...... But give me 10 more mph and I'd be happier. I'll likely keep it another year or two and look at a bike or a faster scooter.
You know.... in the end I'm glad that I went with the SH150i. Going with this would of saved me a grand, but I like that I can go 70mph if I need to. And yes... it does have clock too. :D
this is an outstanding review, thanks! I, too, am turning 30 and never have ridden a two-wheel unit before. Even though this is said to be the easiest of all to ride, I'm still so scared! But i have no problem going 100 mph in my 2007 Honda Accord V6 coupe lol
@neothespian I bought it at Honda, it was retail for 3300. There was no talking down. I was out the door at 4. With tax in tn is almost 10%, and All the tack on dealer charges. All in all it's worth it : )
I've been giving this a serious look for a while since I'm returning to university and don't feel like shelling out another $5000 to $8000 for another "Modern" Vespa (although I still love the vintage stuff). I've been riding for nearly 20 years total, so it's hardly a first bike for me. My question is: Did you buy it at the dealer, and if so, what total charges did they stick you with? Never bought a new bike from a manufacturer so that one bit is uncharted territory for me
Thanks for this video. I too am considering buying this same scooter, but am also a little apprehensive, as I've never riden a motorcycle or scooter on the street. I am hoping that it's as easy as you say. Could you possibly do a video of you actually driving the bike? Also do the US models come with that IDLE STOP feature that the overseas models come with?
@EppingForest304 acceleration from 0-40 is great, after that it take a lil longer. The only gripes I rely have is I wish it had about 15 more mph at top out, but that would hinder the incredible gas mileage, and wish it had a clock. I fixed that by using and old watch, strapping it to the mid handlebars.
@pc3moore Hi! I'm considering buying my first motorcicle ever. I've searched the web for information about several bikes (scooters) and the one with better reviews is the pcx. I haven´t bought one yet because I have one concern: I have never ride a motorcicle in my life, apart from one time for just 5 min, and I really don´t know if this bike is suited for me in that manner. So, do you think it's an "easy" bike to ride?
@joaotobias007 Hey, Im 30 years old and had never rode a bike before i made this purchase. I was pretty nervous on the way home, but it was easy enough that ive rode it everyday for the last month and got pretty comfortable on it. Its every easy to drive. Main thing is learning to lean around curves so your not riding the brake too much. Also turning left or right from a low speed takes some time to get used to. I love it, and couldn't be happier.

It's kind of half scooter half bike, it looks cool. I don't generally like the look of scooters but i would be stoked to own one of these.

Seems expensive. At this price point you could almost get a Ninja 250 (definitely an almost new used one). A price of $2300 would make more sense.

It's only a 125cc, but what's the acceleration like when pulling away from Stop lights & around town filtering... is the engine punchy enough?
EppingForest304 9 months ago
I'm pretty happy with it. Cost me only $5 a week to get to work!
