  • How do you call it an all solid guitar with a 50 piece laminate neck????????????

  • I bought mine (OM-1) last year for less than $700 brand new at Guitar Center and it's worth every penny. Feels a lot like a John Mayer Sig for much less. I don't know where this guy got his info... THUMBS UP SO PEOPLE CAN SEE.

  • Too much chatter. Let the guitar speak for itself- get a better player to sell and demo these for the buyers. This guy has about 0 charisma.

  • 1500 for that? id rather get an alverez for 1200 and sounds better.

  • Has the 1-series been discontinued? It doesn't seem to be on any sites

  • @d0ngbak

no, i bought a D1 three months ago

  • $1,200 for a satin finish martin is a waste of money. Save up a few extra months and get a d18 or a d28.

  • I bought te OMC1 E, 3 months ago and love the sound. It really does sound great. The only critisism I'd make is the satin finish. The top corner is now "polished" where my arm goes over the guitar and it looks like it is a little grubby. They should have given it a more hardwearing finish.I love it all the same.

  • Did anyone else here not like the 1-series (besides price)? I tried an om-1 at Guitar Center, and really really wanted to like it but it was completely uninspiring... in my opinion not even deserving to be in their 'high end' room.

  • I'm surprised at all the people talking about how "expensive" these guitars are. This is retail price. No one pays retail price. You can expect to pay 40% less than that. If not, you're getting ripped off. At that point, the only similarly-priced, solid wood competition is going to be made in China. Otherwise you're looking at laminates.

  • IF you have 2 grand to spend Martin..

If not GUILD ALL THE WAY!

  • uhhh... sorry but that's not funy... lol!

  • The neck of that guitar is perfect.

  • $1500 yeah ok ill have 5 of each ......overly priced........

  • @DjHaNdSkiLLz Thats a list price. You wont pay more than 1000 for these. That's what they are made for...budget.

  • @DjHaNdSkiLLz they cost around 5000 dolars here in brasil (Y). they are sold as top notch guitars. 1500 is absurdly cheap for us. :O

  • I just sold my J-15 and bought the D-1. I think the stratabond neck plays fine and looks nice too. I also like the sound of the D-1 better.

  • There ok but I dont care for the stratabond necks

You can get a D-15 Custom all solid wood Martin for under $1000 In rosewood or mahogany

And if you like the high end gloss apply a coat of McGuires scratch remover followed by a finish wax and it will make that semi gloss shine like a mirror

    food for thought

  • Is this available without the electrics?

  • @jeteye97 Yeah, listen, he gives two prices, one with and one without!!!

  • what strings are best used to get that kind of tone ?

  • Either copper or steel would do. But I recommend steel because it's a finer quality and most guitars are steel string. But the tone of the resulting sound from the strings depend more on the guitar rather than the strings. A plastic guitar would sound softer while a wooden guitar would sound more full and crisp.

  • @Barto1361 Uh, maybe Martin strings?

  • MY GOD that custom at the end sounded amazing!

  • rip off.

  • What song does he play at the end?

  • Martins are beautiful but Taylors sound better, is only mi opinion

  • I agree

  • I agree as well. I love my two Taylors.

  • check out Stonebridge guitars. They are above and beyond all others in my opinion!

  • Wow, you are riht, they sound beautiful, amazing, i like the GS-24-SR

    watch?v=6edH6OK9WTg

Thanks a lot for the info, had never seen them

  • i personally prefer a taylor over martyn!

  • anybody know where i can find a bracing pattern for the first guitar he showed??

  • 2 camels in a car is waaayy better!

  • nope ...

2 camels in a tiny car is waaaaay waaaaay better :D

  • @windragon50 LOL! ray ? :D

  • i got a New Martin DC -16GTE a few weeks ago i LOVE it

  • P.O.S.!!!!!!!!!!

  • james hetfield uses one for fade to black and other acoustic songs right?

  • Maybe I'm wrong, but I think he probably used an electric guitar on the clean channel for them. Of course, I'm not a huge Metallica person, and the only reason I think that is because of the effects. : P

  • no live i know he uses an acoustic

  • Oh ok well thanks for informing me. Now I know. : )

  • On Nothing else matters, the acoustic sound was done by a Gretsch White Lightning. Some of their stuff was done with acoustics, such as the intro to Battery.

  • i thought it was a white falcon??? you might be right thought. i love martins but htey are SOOOO expensive, my apx 700 will have to do lol

  • You're right, It is White Falcon. White Lightning is a shitty cheap cider that sells here in the UK. Freudian slip I suppose lol!

  • okay thanks

  • yeah ..but sometimes he uses martin acoustic .. like in S&M concert .. he uses martin acoustic playing nothing else matters

  • w0w 5800$ but hey you get for what you pay for

  • check out a Seagull

You could get an outstanding Seagull for $1200

  • I love martin guitars, but you can find a much better guitar for 1200 bucks. Not to mention the look of the on board pickup ruins guitars for me.

  • Nice Guitar
