OMG.... Her father gave up a basketball scholarship to serve "our" country? He's the age of a Vietnam Veteran. I lost my oldest brother in that "conflict" and he sure didn't have a "choice" to go to school or fight in the Vietnam conflict. There was no box to check on the draft card application (i.e. Do you want to go to School or Do you want to go to Vietnam). Her father was drafted!
Actually at one point during the Vietnam War there was no draft as in "everyone must go". I was married in 1965 and my husband wasn't eligible for the draft as he was the youngest son and he was married. However, everything changed soon there after and his number was called for the Army. While waiting for his orders, they asked for volunteers to go into the Marines. He didn't want to go into the Marines but since no one put up their hands, the Marines selected him and others.

i know my dad was one of the ones who wanted to be a marine...every one of his brother's served over those years and after...and my mother's too... army and navy... just a family tradition for the the boys to become men in our family. war or no war... it wasnt til my generation that that tradition wasnt absolute for our men.
What a shock. A female Sunday School teacher is accused of mudering & rapeing Sandra Cantu so she must have a mental illness. If a male teacher was accused of murdering & rapeing Sandra he'd be a monster.
im wondering.. the only info we have is that its her suitcase.. what if she is being honest.. honstly they have not released any info other than that.. so im beginning to wonder how much they really have on this girl..
Sounds like they have a lot of info on Melissa Huckaby because Shenemen said they were going to arrest her anyway, even if she hadn't talked to the press about her suitcase and the note, etc.
you can really tell nancy was never a defence lawyer, she doesnt seem to believe in innocent til proven guilty...or in mental illness defences. boy oh boy i hope she never snaps. she'd be screwed
Hopefully Nancy can see black, white and grey in life because as her children start to get older she is going to be faced with a lot of situations she never faced before.

Interesting point, Patty. Does she ever use the name of the accused? or does she always make up a label like "Tot Mom"? Maybe she thinks that using the name of the accused perp humanizes them too much for her show. If so, I guess Melissa is going to be "The Sunday School Teacher" from now on.
I can't figure out why they do that on this show. Even her guest hosts don't use people's first names. Like calling Casey 'Tot Mom' that irritates me! I have heard her fuss at people for saying 'Casey' she asks them since when are they on first name basis with her? UGH that is her NAME,use it! Tot mom sounds sooooooo stupid. Looks like she is going to do the same thing with Melissa Huckabye. I have a love hate thing with Nancy, love the show, hate a lot of stuff she says lol
This Melissa is a monster and deserves the death penalty twice over. No sympathy for her here.
