Too bad they aren't wider. I know that comparing Netherlands and the United States is silly, but they need to widen this shit man!!! Too small. I guess that's why you guys drive tiny cars. I don't know how you do it. I'd be scared to death to drive those tiny smart cars on the Interstate. And I thought Europeans drive faster than Americans. How come the speed limit is only 50 MPH? Is it only in cities? If you can't go faster than 50 MPH, I don't call that a highway.
Give me a Ford Expedition or some kind of vehicle that weighs more than couple of hundred pounds like the smart car and I won't be scared. I'd be scared in those tiny vehicles you guys drive, because you get hit, you're fucked. But the Autobahn is something i'd really like to try one day, but not with a smart car or Citroen piece of shit. Give me a DODGE CHARGER then yeah I'll definitely go on the AUTOBAHN.,
@alyr315 u exaggerate right now.. hes driving the ring of amsterdam wich is busy and right in the city. also.. we dont really drive small cars for all of us. srsly. i dont know but u guys have crown vics and stuff as full size cars. most family sedans and wagon's are almost as heavy . for instance. some people drive mondeo's and they weigh just 400 pounds less then an crown vic. also we do have people here that drive ford expeditions excursions escalades en hummer's.
Hey thanks for the comment. I never been to any European country, I only transited at Schiphol and Charles de Gaule and I rely only on what I've seen on roads from the plane window. So thanks for the info. It's generalizing I guess. Because I always get told how small roads are there and everyone drives a tiny car. But anyway, thanks for clarifying this. I appreciate it.
@flyerholland And finally, remember, we're Americans. A bunch of stupid dummies that can't graduate more than 17 scientists since the Nixon Administration. You people out there are far smarter than any American with his Bowl full of Macaroni and Cheese. Your women are so well dressed and cities so clean. Fuck!! Just look at New York State or New Jersey. It's distgusting.
@alyr315 lol limit post. but also.. we do have big roads in the netherlands.. maby this one doesnt not do justice bcuz its IN the city.. as u said about new york.. same here only even smaller. but if u go to more open spaces or villages. we do actually have big roads. to my amazement there are some roads that are even wider then some normal american roads (read single lane back an forth).. no im not kidding you. but as its a small country we can not have that everywhere.
Finally, I agree that you handle your cars. Us Americans can't drive man! Especially Chinese. Driving at 50 MPH on the left lane when you can go 75-80 MPH. Lots of dummies on the road in this country. But I don't know if you ever drove in New York City. If you can do that, you can drive anywhere else. Or try Kinshasa in Congo. I went there twice and if you want to talk about crazy drivers, go to Kinshasa.
Shit man!! These highways are SO SMALL. DAMN!!! I guess those people havent seen highways yet. Go drive on Highway 401 in Toronto Canada , Dan Ryan Expressway in Chicago or on the New Jersey Turnpike. Amsterdam highways are for me like a Regular Boulevard in the city.
R U serious? widest highway in holland is 16 lanes, pretty much the same as highway 401, besides driving in europe is more difficult, because of the older road system, and weird crossings etc. Europe has more aggressive drivers, for example: if you want to merge in to a highway, dont expect people to slow down or change lanes for you, believe me i have driven in north america, if you drive like that in europe you get nowhere!
Oh , thanks for the info Bro. I go by this video. Never been there.
Did you ever drive in New York City? SHit man!!! That you need to be very "sharpened". It's one of the world's craziest place to drive. That is counting civilized countries of course. I have driven in Kinshasa ( Dem Republic of Congo ) and that's CRAZY SHIT MAN!!!
I have never driven in new york, but i did see the traffic there, not only vids but in real life. it was very congested but didn't seem to difficult to drive there. in europ rome naples and paris are bad places to drive, just search for paris roundabout an you know what i mean!
Well let me tell you that it's not easy to drive in NYC. If you are not INSANE, you're going nowhere. Honking, cutting off and dealing with those yellow cabs is what you need to do here. I'm in the other side of the state. In Buffalo area, which is relaxed. So, remember, you have to be a CRAZY INSANE WACO to drive in NYC
To drive in NYC you need to be CRAZY AND INSANE. If you dont cut off and honk like a maniac out of your mind, you're going nowhere. I'm on the other side of the state ( Buffalo area) and it's more relaxed. But if you drive in Pennsylvania, respect the speed limit. State Troopers are all over the place.
And also, you people drive small tiny cars. I dont know how you do that. In NYC you have to drive along with Ford Crown Victoria Taxis, and lots of SUV and some of them are for you Tanks. I always think what would Europeans look at me if I was to drive my Ford Expedition in your cities. HA HA!! They'd say "crazy American"
@alyr315 lol there are als suv and big cars in europe too, only not as much as in usa, nobody will think crazy american if you drive a big car or anything like that, btw did you search the vid i was talking about?
No, which video? send it to me in the youtube email. As for large cars, I am sure there are, but most of them are still smaller than here. I was told that in London a Toyota RAV 4 is too big. So imagine a Ford Expedition which is almost double size of a RAV 4. I dont know if you've driven an Expedition, but it's a monster. It's an 8 cylinder truck and it only gives 21 MPG ( miles per Gallon ) on highway and about 12 MPG in city.
LoL my nabour has a ford f150 and i have driven it, the street in front of my house is actually smaller than the car so i have to drive 2 wheels on the curb 2 wheels on street. and why is Toyota RAV to big for londen i don't understand? it's definetely harder to drive a big car in europe than in usa that's for sure but most of the guys my age wants big car, the small cars are for girls lol.
Hey your English is alright, better than my Dutch. The F-150 , is it a Euro version or the US original truck. As for the RAV 4, I dont know about London, never been there. I have never been in any European city. I have seen on streets those "Dodge Sprinters" , which I think are Mercedes. I find it ugly, slim van with a crushed nose and HI TOP cargo box behind. YUKK, I dont know what was Chrysler thinking
A big ass truck? A F-150 ? You're kidding me? Shit man!! Then what would a F-350 be for your streets? A Tank?? To me a F-150 is a small pickup truck and a F-350 would be a big one, but again
our roads, intersections are much bigger here in the United States. That's unless you're talking New York City where it's all cramped like piled up buildings.
Finally, I agree, those small cars are mostly "girly", but I have seen "smart" cars around here and in Toronto. Shit man!! I WOULD BE SCARED TO DEATH to even sit in that on the Interstate. Imagine with our crazy winters and you have those Road Trains going at 75 MPH by you. We have Road Trains on the New York State Thruway and they are about 120 feet long. They'll blow you off the road with the speed they drive by
European sizes uhh? Not very familiar with those. I learned of course Metric, but never use it. I'd had to convert it to be able to picture myself how much that is. Of course in terms of math it's ok, but if I don't convert on a chart, I can't see in my mind how much it is. So you would drive something minimum of 15 Feet. That I can picture myself , but Meters. forget it.
Oh the paris Roundabout, I've seen this once, but it's not crazy as Kinshasa ( Dem Republic of Congo ) or Lagos , Nigeria, but it's kinda nuts. New York is something you can compare to Paris Roudabout. But I do agree that in North America it's easier to drive due to wider roads and Highways.
Also, one lady told me that when she came here from London, she was scared crossing the road, since it's so wide. "It takes forever to cross and Supersized cars are going everywhere" HA HA HA!!!

I've been in the states for 5 months and ive been a bit homesick so thanks for the trip around the city, makes me feel not to far from home HA, i recognize pretty much everything in the video, good muzak BTW
The strip of road in Amsterdam Noord, the part where all the roadwork is, this work is done because of the new Amsterdam Metro line "Noord Zuid lijn" which is supposed to be ready for use somewhere in 2011. It's one of the largest infrastructural projects in Amsterdam in many years..

@CarnagerSDV It's funny how you guys in Europe can just go to the neighboring country in short time. SHIT!! If I want to just get across New York State it takes me a good 9 hours. And here in the United States it's cheaper to fly than drive sometimes.
@CarnagerSDV For example, from Buffalo ( west side of the State), a return trip to south Florida during off season is only 150 to 200 bucks, so who the hell is gonna drive all the way down to Fort Lauderdale. It's more expensive in gas that is almost 3 dollars Per Gallon these days.
@alyr315 After seeing @SuddenDeath0 video of getting gas, I figured it was still at $2.40/ga but perhaps the price is different in your region of the US?
Anyway, yeah, with flights as cheap as that there is little reason not to fly. However, aren't there any airport taxes added to those prices, bringing the total up another 100 to 200 bucks? I know in The Netherlands we have to take these kind of figures into account when booking a ticket. Though 99.9% are int'l flights here, of course.. :)
@CarnagerSDV Hey bro, No, the price I mentioned is all inclusive. Basically if a ticket is 200 it includes taxes and fees. So the base price might be 16 to 170 and the rest are the taxes. I went to Africa last April and on a $1,400 ticket I only paid about 100 bucks in taxes, so the ticket was a little over $1,300
@alyr315 Ah, I see. Yeah, America is confusing with their pricing. In Europe every store or establishment is required to post the amount including taxes of all sorts. Only two exceptions are hotels and the likes, where one or two percent is added for municipality tax and the other exception is airline companies, where airport taxes are added (which are up to 100 Euros mostly) but that last exception is under heavy fire so it may not last very long anymore.. :)
@CarnagerSDV Hey it's not confusing at all. I rather have the taxes added to the price of whatever I buy. When taxes are included, you never know what the real tax is. They can fuck you over by increasing it and no one knows. It just looks as if the price went up. But if they raise taxes, that politician gets kicked out of office usually, so having taxes extra is keeping politicians to their fire. I prefer the American system.
@alyr315 Well, you got a point there, but in The Netherlands the tax is, depending on the type of product, always the same in the entire country: 19% for luxury products and 6% for primary needs eg bread, water, vegetables and all kinds of food you still have to prepare yourself. Luxury food is priced at a high vat, eg candy, microwave meals, seasonal specialities and such..
I guess in the end it's just what you've gotten used to..
@CarnagerSDV TAX ON BASIC GROCERIES? We pay food tax if you go to MCDONALD'S, etc. but not all states. NY state, the 2nd most taxed after California, we only pay tax on luxury, not groceries. WOW! But, U.S. style is a State sales tax and LOCAL tax, which varies depending on the county or municipality. In Buffalo where I am, it's 8.75% where 4% is NY and 4.75 for ERIE COUNTY.
@CarnagerSDV They differ from store to store and from state to state. You can buy the same dozen of Dunkin Donuts in Florida for $8 and here in Buffalo it's just over 5$. And then you add tax, so you're pretty much right. It varies a lot. A Gallon of Milk can be 3.50 at 1 place and 1.99 at another store. Same with Gas. you can pay 2.75/Gallon at EXXON, then pay 2.99 just across the street at GULF.

@CarnagerSDV Yeah, New York State and California State have the highest gas prices in the United States. Georgia has the cheapest.

@alyr315 So prices differ quite a bit within the US alone..
In The Netherlands, prices are usually no more than 10 cents off per liter, regardless of brand and region. Then again, it's just a small country. ;]

Hi Assgier,
yes, the parts where nothing happens are just not all that interesting... Heck, if you want to see stills, just pause the clip for a bit.... lol ^^
So the choice of removing those parts was easy. XD
Good to hear you enjoyed!
