documented fact is that takamatsu made up the ryu he taught to hatsumi as ninjutsu from "ninja-gokko"(childhood ninja games) its even in the bugei ryuha daijiten (THE encyclopedia on budo) granted it was removed from later editions because an unsourcable quote has little place in an encyclopedia. that said i dont doubt takamatsu saying it, why would watatani care to lie to discredit him?

the last practitioner died over 40 years ago his name was Seiko Fujita, and he didnt teach anyone his ryu

Fair point on the name Ninjutsu as we've come to know it today but the use of said word has been allowed by Soke Hatsumi. I train under teachings from Genbukan and Bujinkan by a teacher graded by both Soke so i suppose its a matter of refering to the martial art by one name so people know what we're on about.

but the problem is, that hatsumi was never taught ninjutsu , takamatsu made up all of the "ninpo" ryu he passed on from : "ninja-gokko" (childhood ninja games) Its all there in the Bugei Ryuha Daijiten, as it is a personal anecdote keep in mind it was removed in editione 4, but i doubt that watatanai kiyoshe would tarnish his reputation to discredit takamatsu...
