  • We had a used gold Corvair on Homestead AFB, white top, red interior. If I remember right, the 4 spreed shifter had this 'T' handle on it, no white knob. This would be 1965 & I was7. It had wire wheels (hubcaps?) & little wire mesh grills (rock protectors) over the headlights. The dash was the same as in this video. I remember the big (to me) red bucket seats. Not sure about the year though. It had clutch issues but was reliable enough.

  • i love the corvair do you know if that back win is plastic or glass

  • That AMC Marlin is what caught my eye. You don't see too many of those.

  • @totalrod2 I'll see if I can take a closer look at it the next time I'm over there.

  • I had a 1963, I bought new and loved driving it. You always had to carry a spare fanbelt and wrenches because, when you accelerated to get on the expressway the transmission shifting gears would drop engine RPM and the torque of the blower would frequently break the fanbelt. I went through 4 crankshafts in one year, so when the warranty ended, I traded it in on a new car.

  • The interior looks like a Made Up (Mexican?) '63 style. Buttons are too high, and I think they should be side-by-side, not up and down. The "grille" bar is a '62 style, so I'll be this is a '62 with re-covered '63 seats. Engine is missing VERY important seals, around the sides and oil dipstick. Hubcaps belong on the Valiant beside it.

Thx fer the tour, and get him a Corvair. He'll appreciate the mid 20's MPG, as opposed to barely breaking 10 w the T/A, and he'll live to tell the tale -:)))

  • @CORVAIRWILD Wow, you really know your corvairs. Thanks for checking it out and pointing out the issues. I appreciate it.

  • @RamblinAround All for fun!!!

  • Ya those old Corvair's were pretty cool. They were a very unique and innovative design. Kind of like the Delorian's..

  • @RoadWarrior72

I have a black one that was red long ago. Convertible Chevy 1963 Mazda Corvair. Why are they called Mazda

thats another brand. Anyways it is what it is and I am not getting ready to loose her but I have to let her go soon

to make room. I got a mechanic that charged me 170 for my left wheel that got all fucked up. Maybe sending to him the corvair might be smart.
