The two black spots don't actually appear on it's BACK... the end with the small tentacles is it's behind, and the bigger part is it's nose.

So the male and female weren't kissing, they were mating.

I wouldn't want to be a cuttlefish. They live for too short of time and are too low on the food chain for me. If I had to choose to be an animal, I'd be an elephant - long lived, don't have to hunt, and too big for anyone to mess with.
