  • @disposablefreedom church hospitals at one time took care of all that and private hospitals also but then again there weren't that many people with these diseases and mental ailments, so we have to ask why so many now.

  • @ckcurtiskuhlman111 Why so many? I may be called a conspiracy theorist after this reply, but I honestly believe medicine is so easy to capitalize from, the medical industry devises ways to sustain an illness rather than cure it. You can't make money off of the healthy..Plus, experimentation, chemicals, pesticides, and carcinogens, just to name a few..Not to mention what is given to us without our knowledge..

  • & what did the messiah propose we do to fix it? oh, that's right, he didn't. he said we need more donors. however, he doesn't believe we should tax the rich. he actually thinks these 'young people' will wake up one day & contribute to faith based groups. ha. he knows that will never happen. he wants to keep the wealthy in wealth, while leaving the other 95% as their slaves, upper & lower, no middle. one day these young people are going to need assistance, if they support rp, they won't get any.

  • We really need Ron Paul for our president. If only people would get their head out of their ass and listen to what he is really saying, then this nation would avoid bankruptcy and prosper.

  • Social Security isn't a Ponzi Scheme. Ponzi Schemes are a fraudulent investment operation where original investors trick new investors into investing to pay off the old investors. It's predicated entirely on fraud.

SS meets zero of these criteria. It's meant to be a guaranteed supplement to private retirement savings (you know, the ones that unregulated banks continue to make disappear). Sorry, libertarians, it isn't theft or a ponzi scheme, try again.

  • @notalbertpotato So, what you're saying is that it's not using the money being paid in right now by the new investors to pay the returns to previous investors and that they're not making promises of a later return that cannot possibly happen since the entire thing is going bankrupt? You're right, that it's not technically a Ponzi Scheme . . . but the only difference is that it's done by the people that would throw you in jail if you did it. That makes it legal.

  • @DarrinMA No, what I'm saying is actually quite clear; it needs not be obfuscated by you putting words in my mouth. You should refrain from using the term 'investors' as well. SS isn't an investment, it's a social insurance program, and even the most gloomy and biased economic projections don't predict it going bankrupt. It could pay a reduced rate, sure, but that is if the current, broken payroll tax rate is used (the one rich people pay a disproportionately small amount into).

  • There would be more money for SS if special interests and the military eco machine stop robbing the American people of the future.

  • @MiHiVidz With all due respect, you're an idiot and have absolutely no idea what you're talking about! What?!?!, I said "with all due respect!"

  • They should find a way to give the beneficiaries back at least 85% in a lump sum, and then call it quits.. At least this way they will be able to live and get some rather than waiting and get nothing..

  • Ever seen a Poor House?

    No?

    THANK SOCIAL SECURITY!!

  • @MiHiVidz Since you like to post ridiculous accusations and statements not supported by evidence or facts, why don't you explain how Social Security helps people by giving back the money that it took from them in the first place. Your whole argument stems from the assumption that the federal government is more responsible with your money than you are - wow, point to a single case where that's true! In fact, if that's true, it means people such more than government - sell that one to me...

  • @DarrinMA ***people suck***

  • @DarrinMA So, you just want to bring back the "good old days" or poor houses then, right?

When the investors of ENRON got hosed, they had Social Security to fall back on or they would have been homeless and hungry overnight. If you had your way, most of them would be dead now.

  • Question:What about people that have life threatening illnesses?

What about people on expensive life sustaining medication?

    What about the mentally disabled?

What about the people in nursing homes that recieve govt. assistance?

    Etc.....?

  • @disposablefreedom Perhaps the "quote of the week" on Paul's congressional website is fitting...

"Socialism, like the ancient ideas from which it springs, confuses the distinction between government and society. As a result of this, every time we object to a thing being done by government, the socialists conclude that we object to its being done at all." -Frederic Bastiat

  • @VolkOseba Good quote..It still has not answered the question..So those relying on the program should just lay down and die? There is a way to stop this program whitout mass death. If the program is stopped instantly..That is what we will get.. :/

The Government needs to crack open that piggy bank they call the Federal Reserve, then a lot of things can be changed for the better.. Most of the people we are discussing, recieving these benifits have payed in all thier lives and deserve retribution.

  • @disposablefreedom Nobody ever said it would be eliminated instantly.

  • @VolkOseba Nobody said it wouldn't be also.. ?

  • @VolkOseba Don't get me wrong I am a huge Ron Paul supporter. Even so we still need to ask the big questions...

  • @VolkOseba But they do want it ended eventually. What happens to those who need it after it's gone? They told to just go crawl somewhere and die?

  • @MiHiVidz A ponzi scheme doesn't pay in the long run-- it will be gone, wether we eliminate it before it goes bankrupt or not. What will happen to future retirees? They'll be expected to pay for their own retirement rather than steal it from someone else's grandchildren. If you want to help them, nobody is stopping you, but you have no right to help them with other people's money. You have no right to take what isn't yours at the point of a gun, no matter what you want to use it for.

  • @VolkOseba Who the Hell do you think you are, condemning people into living like animals and having to grovel for charity? You're just one pink slip away from having to be in need of Federal assistance yourself, jackoff.

  • @MiHiVidz Who the hell do you think you are, parasite? YES, you should grovel for charity, because the alternative is a gun to someone else's head. Your situation gives you no right to STEAL, asshole.

  • @VolkOseba Inhuman, thoughtless monsters like you are WHY Ron Paul is going to go down in flames this year, and since he said that this is his last shot, that will be the last we will be threatened by him, or by assholes like you.

It is obvious that Ron Paul would be nothing but a nightmare for America, and this poor nation has suffered enough without having to have sociopaths like you seizing power & trying to force your crackpot demands on the innocent.

    GOOD

    FUCKING

    RIDDANCE!

  • @MiHiVidz I'm the inhuman one? You're the one who has proclaimed that you have a right to take what belongs to someone else by force. I just want what's MINE.

  • @VolkOseba Yes, you are inhuman. The kind of absolute shit you spewed goes even beyond mere trolling. Really are an inhuman asshole. A person has just said why they have a legitimate fear of what would happen to them under a Ron Paul regime, and all you could do was applaud such cruelty. Go fucking burn in Hell!!

  • @MiHiVidz How is it cruel of me to say THEFT IS WRONG? How is it virtuous of you to say theft is right?

  • @VolkOseba Go fuck yourself!

  • @MiHiVidz That's not an argument, that's a cop out. You know that theft is immoral. You know that you advocate theft.

  • @VolkOseba I'm not here to have an argument like you want. You're an inhuman asshole. That's not an argument. It is an obvious fact.

    Again, Go Fuck Yourself!

  • @MiHiVidz How am I wrong when I say theft is immoral?

  • @VolkOseba Even the Qur'an, which the Taliban adhere to, allows a person to steal if they are hungry and need to eat.

Are you even more selfish and cruel than the Taliban?

  • @MiHiVidz I don't get it. You're insulting the Qur'an and saying that you're good for following it in the same post... if that's not cognitive dissonance I don't know what is.

  • @VolkOseba : "I don't get it. "

    That's the point, dumbass.

  • @disposablefreedom What about the U.S. Constitution?

  • @DarrinMA What about it?

  • @DarrinMA If we don't get Ron Paul in there..."We won't have the constitution"..O_o"

  • @DarrinMA As far as my questions...I had concerns that needed addressing...I know now how those concerns are being met..

  • @disposablefreedom Question: What did people do for 1000s of years before soc secur was enacted @ 60 years ago. What about the moral issue of stealing money from people through taxation for this. Why are we so conditioned today to see government as taking care of us from birth to death. What did Ben Franklin mean "those who give up liberty for security deserve neither and lose both". Historically parents took care of children, then children took care of parents-moral, no tax

  • @freedomuniversity Hey I'm a Ron Paul supporter myself..I just wanted to know what was going to happen to the people that have become dependent on that system.I think it should be done away with also,BUT not at the expense of lives to do so..SS was a flawed idea to begin with,we should of known that the Govt. would put thier greedy hands in the honey pot..As far as the children and the parents part in your comment, that is not a good idea these days, morality is not what it used to be. :/

  • @disposablefreedom Medical Cannibus (the Indica strain) cures ALL of that. Im not even lieing. The Hemp oil is a powerful medicine. CURES cancer and a assortment of over illnesses, such as Alzheimers, Schizophrenia, Glaucoma, etc.

  • @realhiphop087 Yea, but the Government can't make money off of the cured..I watched a documentary about the cure for brain cancer, using cannabis. We can't even legally experiment with it within the U.S..Even though it has been proven beneficial..

  • @disposablefreedom Lol? this is why the government need to be abolished. They never were here for the benefience of the people, only themselves.

  • @realhiphop087 I couldn't agree more..lol?

  • @disposablefreedom You understand that youve practically destroyed your own argument support the government's healthcare existence, when their only about money. (hence what you said about cannibus).

  • @realhiphop087 Hey I never said it should of existed in the first place..It needs to be phased out, but not at the expense of peoples lives, that is all. the government's healthcare system is only about treating people not curing them..You can't make a profit cancer if no one has it. Govt: "So lets just treat it" get what I mean?

  • @disposablefreedom You can just get rid of the government and grow cannibus and then all these "people with illnesses/mental disabilites" will not be a problem.

  • @realhiphop087 That's a stretch..I believe in smaller Govt. and legalizing marijuana, but marijuana is NOT a cure for everything..Marijuana is NOT a miracle cure for everything as you seem to think.. Do you really believe that?

  • @disposablefreedom No, not to that extent obviously, but it does alot of things people are not telling us about because it hurts big industrys.

  • @realhiphop087 I agree..The big industry's have too much control, and so does the Govt..I haonetsly believe though that some far reaching medical breakthrough's could be achieved through experimentation and that's what the med industry fears..Not to mention the dumb idea that it is a "gateway" drug..lol

  • @realhiphop087 I know this is not my convo but I don't think abolishing the GOV is what needs to be done. I do think they need to be downsized and we have to put the bridle and bit of law in their mouth to control their actions but doing away with it altogether is certainly not healthy either. We the people need to regain control over the practices of the Federal Government as they are unable to properly regulate themselves it appears.

  • First of all Social Security was never meant to supply people with money to live on it was a SUPPLEMENT only! Secondly, the government has already looted it. That same government is now being asked to continue controlling YOUR money? This actually makes sense to some of you? Really? Those who have already paid during their working lifetime should continue to receive it but we need to wean ourselves from it after that.

  • @Vote4RonPaulLiberty That is my point exactly..It should be done accordingly..Many people on social security are in a situation to where if it is removed, they have no resources to survive. The program should be gradually shut down so the elderly and disabled in this generation have a chance to survive.. :/

  • Comment removed

  • @SpitfireOFatj Ricky Perry! Is that you?

  • I'm a strong supporter of Ron Paul, but this part of him is a bit to extreme especially if he's not proposing a way to transition out of SS.

If it were abolished over night, the next day millions of disabled/elderly persons would be thrown on to the streets and left to die. Crime and Homelessness would blow through the roof.

  • @illincrux Absolutely no way does he want to abolish it overnight . He wants to give people an opportunity to opt out ( mostly this would affect young people who would never see a penny under the current system!), and start their own IRA's. etc. He said recently in an interview that if he could bring home the troops and save trillions , it would boost the economy and the programs could be saved , modified, streamlined with that $ .Check him out a bit more - he is the only one who can't be bought

  • @illincrux He's never said he'd abolish it overnight - in fact, he's talked about phasing out, giving choices, and not touching those that were promised something - he's in favor of honoring current "contracts" but not creating new, flawed ones.

  • @illincrux He never said he would abolish it overnight. He is the only one who has a plan to RESTORE medicare and ss for people that paid into it (he would fund it by saving money that we are wasting overseas). He would like to phase out ss for the younger people who did NOT pay into the system.

  • All these young people don't think they need social security until they become disabled and have no way to support themselves...I didn't care about social security until I got heart disease out of nowhere at 21 and would be dead now without it and medicare

  • fuck your welfare system i will never file for s.s.

  • @MrBigdicklou Let them die by not having any money waiting for them in social security.

Then again, that's Ron Paul's solution to everything: Get government out of the way so old people have no way to fend for themselves when they can't work anymore.

  • @ladistar That's an absurd statement. He's mostly talking about the FEDERAL Government...What's the point in having STATE and LOCAL law if the FEDERAL government has oversight into everything. If you research him you will realize that he gives more flexibility to the STATES to govern their constituents because America has regional political differences. He wants limited FEDERAL government. He has said repeatedly it won't happen overnight.

  • I was Homeless before i had social security,I got hurt in the US ARMY In Iraq. Please Don't Take My Social Security Ron Paul.

  • @MrBigdicklou if you find out let me know.

  • ron paul for president!

  • ss is good, tax not the rich not the poor

  • Liberty is the sole provider of assistance. Allowing freedom is the chance of allowing imperfections throughout society to be counter balanced by that of morality and simple understanding that cause and effect is what shapes a countries standard. We were found on liberty and prospered through hard work and production. As greed developed so did the unbalance of power. Now we are not socialist, or capitalist, or facist. We are all of the above, which is far worse than being just one of the above.

  • GIVE IT TO WALL STREET, THEN YOU WILL KNOW WHEN THEY STEAL IT !

  • less goverment is the awnser to everything, just not so much that we go into anarcy

  • Im from the UK and we are twice as bad as you Americans. All it seems to do is create a generation and culture of people who are dependant on the state. Thats not freedom. It also means hard workers are paying high taxes to support these people. With 1 in 4 people in this country over 65 in the next few years there is no way this can work.

  • SS is a ponzi scheme plain & simple. So many people have already unraveled it- so has milton friedman who has made countless arguments each toppling the system

  • hahaha SS- another bad acronym for govt buraucracy

hahahahah not going bankrupt? finding the money somewhere? ok govt gets its money from where? the people- u & me

ur retirement is ur own responsibility- it aint anyone elses. Thus its ironic that anyone should hand over such responsibility to anyone else. Moreover after handing it over, who's responsibility is it when you dont get ur retirement funds? urs!

  • Well, it really is super simple. Government doesn't produce anything. Invest all of those billions of tax dollars in increased production. More stuff + stable money= all of us much more wealthy. Anything that prevents the production of goods and services that we desire=we are poorer.

  • congress lets wstreet steal it.Plain and simple.Hang them.I've seen Ron speak live at Houston. The crowd loved him, then he said personal savings account. We pay in. This would be disaster. The whole crowd stopped cheering and looked at each other, wtf did he just say. Paul's parents wealthy.Hepersonally doesn't know check to check.put up wall so can't be drawn from.instead he alienates 60% of votes. when msm, hypocrits harp on it.He's too smart not to see that. masoncontrolled opposition.

  • 99% of Ron Paul is the best. But his view on ss is suspect. He alienates a good half of the nation when he says that. Is my man a true mason. Is this the "accidental shooting in the foot" others have expected. We pay in. Social sec. saving accounts would be tied to stock market. They know when their stock will go up. The sales director first knows by landing a new contract, say wheels for ford. get it. Stock market is rigged. If 1 dollar is lost someone gains a dollar. Whogotitwhen crash.

  • No no no. Private savings accounts would be tied to the stock market you dolt. It just needs to be done honestly. This could be done. But you need to hang congress people that steal it. We pay in. Ron Paul would do good to close trap on that subject. Personal saving accounts are what bush wanted. Red flag or what. Do you want your granny or papa on the streets or begging. It is the best system going. It is not wealfare. This alienates all over 65 at least. He knows better than that???

  • he also doesn't suggest how to fix it. so the older generation who worked towards building a better country should be dismissed b/c the young want more money for video games, nikes, and other frivvolous bullshit.

  • @NATOvsENEMIES ya because the old will be around in 2045 and ALL of the young who pay towards it spend all their time playing video games. you an idiot.

  • ron isn't good for the working poor.

  • @NATOvsENEMIES Someone who's pro-business, for sound money, wants to lower taxes across the board, and wants to end the drug war -- that's great for the working poor.

  • Ron Paul is nuts. Social Security is not going anywhere. It's publicly owned and FUNDED by the government - a.k.a. a daily bailout

  • I feel that Social Security is a 2 sided tough issue to debate, because like it is unfair that people are paying into something that crooked people steal from, it would also be unfair to leave the elderly and mentally/physically disabled defenseless.

There are people that are just completely out of it or maimed and cannot work same for elderly.

So there should be some sort of balance, also they should completely cut off spending on pork instead of raising taxes.

  • Thats the reason why we have open boarders. The only way to keep the Ponzi scheme going is to grow the population to heaven. What economists and politicians don't realize is the less people we have in America, the cheaper everything will cost, especially infrastructure.

    The world is messed up.

  • So true. Thet welcome open boarders to get their tax money and have a population that knows nothing of the Constitution. As for social security, if the government had not stolen the money we put in (and taxes were even doubled way back to account enough for the baby boomers), then the money would be there. Throw every last one of them out next election and vote Ron Paul for President.

  • I think soc sec is a great idea. Most people I know do not or cannot save any money. They spend though, using credit cards. A forced system of savings, like soc sec, would allow these people to at least have some money when they reach 65, otherwise most will be looking for handouts: welfare, friends, family, etc. Best, while still working, is to have soc sec and invest in a good portfolio of stocks, to include precious metals. Closing the Fed Reserve would be a fantastic help.

  • Well done, docubloggers, but more facts are needed. Interview experts, too.

  • With Some Guy name Ron Paul Shittass dork.

  • @samroach0 "Social Security is a Ponzi scheme."

    Squawk!

    Polly wanna cracker?

  • Comment removed

  • @samroach0 You obviously haven't read about what it was like before Social Security.

  • And How are we going to get Checks. For disalbe people We need SSI our with could we use. put disalbe people with nothing. I have SSI and will work my way out it WeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE need SSI sorry honey bicth ASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSesesesese we need it Ron Paul SHUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT Fuck Up Really You will Never Cut SSI.

  • WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY the fuck Do we need to get Ride of SSI someone explan that to me please that I have SSI and disable so you are going to cut Disable people Fuck ass Patriot and a supied Ass Ron Paul supporter. SSI Going to away Why.

  • Social security needs to etheir needs to be abolist or privatized

  • Social Security could be fixed in a split second. Tax social security on earnings above 100k. Done! It's absolutely necessary, especially with rising costs and stagnant wages in our modern society. The REAL problem with this country is the utlra concentrated wealth by very few, and 90+ percent of the rest of the country fighting for the scraps.

  • There been some people out there that are warning us that the US Government is on the verge of bankruptcy! This will happen around April or May. This will come without warning that there may be no more Social Security check after May 2009

  • I think this was very well done! I am almost 55 and not sure if SS will be around for me but I do not know the answer; SS does help alot of people currently. I agree something needs to change!! Look forward to the next segment-good job Pat!

  • Social Security is not just a ponzi (spelling) scheme, it's a gov sponsored and mandated scheme. Ask yourself what happens to the money the gov forces you to contribute to SS and you die before you ever collect one red cent? Your heirs don't get it. You can't will it to charity or any other organization. That's right, the gov keeps it.

  • I appreciate the honest look at this subject. Its good to see the concern of my fellow young Americans. The Social Security issue is an important one for all of us because it is so impacting of a current group of people and yet another group of people are fitted the bill. I thought Ron's comments are valued and make you question what will happen and when will the changes happen....if any. Its hard to find a light switch when so many people are in the dark. Keep up the Good Work Pat!!!

  • I am 63 years old and unemployed. My question is what will happen to all us unemployed and/or elderly if Social Security & Medicaid was not available, do we all live on the street there to die? How many are unemployed in this Country now? What is their future?

  • I do not mean to sound rather provocative but my honest opinion is a modern style socialism will be the answer to all of this unemployment. The government has preserved capital to destroy it to that point.
