@MrPyromaniac1234 Yes your right! someone else corrected me on that as well. I should probably put an annotation on the video. I didn't know it was called a friction clutch though. Thanks for that! I said centrifugal clutch because thats what it says on the assembly instructions book. They don't even know what it is. How dumb!
@ratpilot You can get rid of it. You have to install a JackShaft kit. It connects the motor to a special flywheel you install at the peddle. It lets the motor use the bikes own gears. It's like a manual shift motorcycle.
@WhoTubeProductions Yes it is completely legal to ride as long as your following all the regular bicycle laws. The only restrictions I've seen is people post 'No Motorized vehicles' signs on most common bike trails. It would be illegal to engage the engine in that situation.
@ratpilot It only looks loose.. It's actually the perfect tension. I spent hours trying to find the perfect tension. 1 less link and it won't fit, 1 more link and it won't fit. This is the only option. Also, I've never had a chain fall off yet.
What is the top speed you can get on it? A heavy scooter with a 49cc engine can reach speeds of up to 50-70 km/h, so surely this bike can go PRETTY fast, right?
@stephen3398 The 80cc can run for hours and hours while the electric motor can run 15-30 mins. You know what would be cool? If you could install both electric and gas, then while the gas motor is engaged it will charge the electric motor. It's like a hybrid for your bike. Just a thought.
I just saw these kits online, they are TIGHT... I want to get one, but damn EPA regs in CA won't let me. im gonna have to ship through Nevada or something.
@DanDavM You should have no problem getting it shipped to you. You can buy non EPA certified engines in Cali. You just cannot register it with the DMV. Which doesn't matter too much anyway.
you just need a v frame to mount the motor but i wouldnt use it for bmx stunts because the engine will make the bike HEAVY and you wouldnt want to to land on you.
@TheStiaan They won't install on all BMX bikes. Check out sickbikeparts website and look at their front page. They have a BMX style bike there that was equipped with a motor. It's a tight fit but will work.
@TheStiaan Yes but the V-Frame must clear. There are only a handful of BMX bike that will work, but they will. I've seen a BMX bike with a motor at a show once.
Yes, you are right! I'm sorry that I said it in the video.. The only reason I said it was centrifugal was because the Chinese instructions said that it was... After looking it up on Wikipedia, I wish it was centrifugal. That would rock, and auto trans bike.
It has a clutch on the handle bar just like a motorcycle. To start to you need a little momentum then release the clutch and the motor will engage. You can also buy an optional pull starter but then you have to extend your crank pedals or it will hit the motor.
would u get burn in the motor? coz its hot. right? so tis just like a scooter ? was it worth to buy this? thanks a lot. and it would be a good help for your response as im planning to buy ... thanks again
nice bike I was thinking of doing the same but I looked up NY DMV and they say you can not ride on streets I see your in NY do they give you a hard time with that ?
Who is They? Are you talking about a DMV employee or the New York State - DOT laws? Police do not even notice that its a motorbike and if they did it complies with all current NYS-DOT laws regarding human/petrol vehicles. Just don't be stupid when driving in the streets. Road signs apply to bikers as well. Best of Luck!
they are NY state DMV and say Motor-assisted Bicycle - a bicycle to which a small motor is attached. A motor-assisted bicycle does not qualify for a registration as a motorcycle, moped or ATV and does not have the same equipment.
These devices are not allowed on any street, highway, parking lot, sidewalk
Adjust the idle control screw. It's the screw on the carb with the spring around it. Start your bike and give it a quater turn clockwise to increase the idle control.
I ride all my bikes HARD and I've never crashed. If you decided to use the Chinese motor mounts then you have to readjust them after the first and second ride. They are cheap and not recommend for use.
have you heard of the jackshaft? It's a small shaft that sends the enenrgy from the motor to a speical front freewheel at the peddles. You can use the bike gears to shift with the jackshaft. but man it makes your bike FAST!
i also used aircraft apoxy and a better bolt setup on the motor mount plate all i have left to do is pop the links in the chain i used a walmart huffy beach cruiser the kit will work on it but lots of extra mods have to be done best thing to do buy the bike and motor kit from the at the same place or get a fully built one frome a scooter shop its not a fun job installing with no paper work lol
That is totally crappy man! My kits have come with various instruction sets but in all the cases the install kits are cheap. I found a universal mount at autozone that seems to work. It's in the towing section and they are called stabilizer bushings. $20 a pop but they are heavy duty. What else are you having trouble with? Do you have pics? maybe I can guide you.
Acutally the sprocket is the easiest part. That's the very first thing I do. You take the back wheel off and install the sprocket against to oppsite side the normal gear cassette is on. It's held in place with 2 heavy rubber gaskets and about 12 metal bolts.
Each state has laws based on engine displacement for registration needs. You would have to google it for your state but here in Texas you have to register anything that has 50cc's or more. In New York it's 110cc or more to register.
I liked the first bike better. That one had a really stiff clutch. It was really hard to pull the clutch in but it starts on the first try. This new bike has a very easy clutch but I actually have to use the choke if its been sitting. I'm going to stick with the straight mountain bike handlebars next time too.. Maybe a chopper bike. :)
I took it from waterford, NY to Lake George, NY and back.. Round trip was about 100 miles and I did it on 1 tank of gasoline. It holds 1/2 gallon of gas. I would shut the motor off when coasting and I also used a Pulse Star spark plug to increase efficiency.
I use 2.5oz of oil for every 1 Gallon of fuel. I also use the lowest grade fuel (87 octane In TX) but some people use the good stuff. I don't know which is better yet.

Hey I am considering buying one, i'm 15 and live in michigan. Would this work on a 24" frame with front suspension?
Also, are electric ones any good or would you recomend gas over electric?
I'd appreciate a reply, thanks.
