there are also probably a few other cards better than him, too. Ancestral Recall, the Moxen, and Time Walk are all certainly better. Is Timetwister really better though? Is Balance? Necropotence? Yawgmoth's Will, easily yes. Demonic Tutor as well. But....Jace the Mindsculptor was printed, not 15 years ago, but..uh..2. So, yeah. That's rather a big deal.

Jace is easily the best card in the last 10 years, and one of the best in the game, ever. There are so many cards, I would believe that he maybe just barely misses the Top 20. Top 20 out of 11,000+, and the only one printed this side of 2000 that ranks that high...STILL pretty ridiculous.

Vampire Hexmage has won how many Pro Tours, come again? Every card has it's answer. Look to see which cards still place in Top Tier Events anyway, despite the answers, to find out what's good. Jace the Mind Sculptor is the best card I can actually find in stock anywhere. Any thing better, and nobody's dumb enough to actually part with one. Candelabra of Tawnos. That's a great card. Who in their right mind sells it? Sleeve it up and win you some money bro!

@snorlaxpulls Jace has an interesting story- From the moment he was spoiled, I knew that the $25 tag would NOT last and he would impact Legacy. I wasn't sure about Vintage. Then over the months, he kept getting more and more bonkers- but here's the thing. The metagame shape was very different than the other times stuff has gotten banned- like Skullclamp, or Memory Jar? Instant Ban-Hammer. Jace? By the time the metagame got THAT bad, it was really too late. He was about to leave Standard anyway.
