  • My dog has a yeast infection and let's the vet clean his ears, but will not let me! He freaks out as soon as he sees the bottle, and starts trying to bite me after a few tries. But he's not an aggressive dog, and has never tried to hurt me before. At the vets he sits calmly and let's him do it. Ps: we have to clean his ears once a day

  • @Banananna957 - He lets the vet do it because of fear. He knows what he can get away with you. What I do instead of taking the bottle to the ear, I douse the gauze with the solution, don't let him see the bottle. I would also muzzle him, to let him know you are in control. Take the gauze and gently put to ear and squeeze a little, then fold ear over and rub around for a minute. I always have a milk bone ready for mine too. he used to bite at me, but no more..

  • My labradoodles"s ear is always full of dark gunk, even though I clean it all the time. the vet says it is inflamed inside and he wants to flush it under aenesthesia. is there an alternative?

  • @judgemomjn dar gunk means ear mites. Yes you dont even need a vet if you are sure its ear mites. You drown them with olive oil also white vinager is good for cleaning . Google for more

  • Any recommened tips or video on treating a dog that hates his ears being touched? is the only option sedation?

  • my dog just got diagnose with ear infection. at first the sign he was, unstable walking and discomfort..how long dose an ear infection last. he has been prescribe with 4 different meds

  • my dog gat a lump on his ear and like yellowish red i think is an insect bite so i tryed to pop it and gat a wet paper towel and put it around his ear ? is he ganna be better or do i need to call the vet?

  • My husky/shepard mix has a chronic Left ear infection.. It always returns... Only in the left ear... The stupid "Natural Path" Vet gave me steroids to give my dog... What the??! I thought he was a natural pathetic vet?! Obviously the steroids didn't work but now I am out of $300 +.... Wish Vets actually knew how to treat and cure ear infections.. Its like they want you to come back to them so they can profit off your pets and your pain..

  • @laurajdahl - my rotti has the left ear infection too, that always returns. I told my vet that we aren't coming back and forth like that. I try to keep his ears clean, don't try to squeeze anything in his ears from the bottle vet gives you, cuz the dog will get agressive, mine does anyway. He never makes contact, but he could and that would hurt. He has gotten 100% better with the ear issue. And the vet is not getting $300 bi-annual from me.

  • @diamondgirl828 put the solution on cotton instead of squeezing it in.

  • well that was a little disappointing. I would have preferred more detail about types of ear infection, signs and symptoms and ways to prevent, cure, soothe and treat in differing breeds such as poodles.

I would also be interested in info about lumps such as fatty lumps, cysts, absesses or cancer and how to monitor benign lumps and spot if they become cancerous or infected.

To ramron333 if you haven't got anything other than crap to say, try going to the loo!

  • my dogs got no nose
