He's putting himself at more risk than anyone else, not being able to see the incoming shot. There's no way you can call that a misconduct. Hockey Night in Canada is always hellbent on not letting the game progress. You can't (couldn't, before the Avery rule came into play) give out a misconduct for screening a goaltender. Doesn't matter which direction he's facing.

The NHL also has a clear 'player responsibility for their own safety' ethos. Allowing people to wave stick into a goalie's face (who can't turn his head, shield his face or even close his eyes from an incoming blow) effectively conditions the goaltender to not protect themselves.
