I was 17 years in 1985 and was playing drums in a band in Paris...All the band's members were Chameleons huge fans..This was in 1985..Then 16 years passes , we found jobs , some had kids , some divorced...Suddenly In 2001 , The same band members call each other to see the Chameleons live in ..Paris for a unique show..Ungorgettable moment..We nearly cried at this end........We are now all 42 years old and still listen to this legend band
@BorlandRIP7 lucky bugger been a fan since '81 n they still give me a huge buzz saw them last week n cant wait to do the same in august .Manchesters finest EVER !!!!!
OMG went to see them last night in their home town of Middleton for my 40th birthday!!! What a night!!!!! I'm crying typing this coz it was so F**king great!!! I have loved The Chameleons for years but never got the chance to see them before now!!! A birthday I will NEVER forget!!!!
@GreenTubesPuppets Yes indeed. One of the greatest bands ever not to reap the riches of so called 'fame'they so deserve.......but i guess the're ok with that ? (i certainly am cos ot means they gig in Macclesfield !!.....good on ya Mark)
i have never seen them live but i soooo wish i had , i thank my eldest vrother for getting me into these in the mid 80,s , such an under rated band , i just sooooooo wanto seee them live !!!!!!
I cant believe I have just turned 34 and am now only just getting into the Chameleons. What a song/performance. I pray for a chance to see them live one day. Manchesters best !
Anyone not familiar with this band needs to go out and buy their cd's. They're all GREAT! And if you can see them live, do yourself a favor and do it. It's like floating on a cloud (if you could that is).
this is just awesome. I'm awestruck by this performance. And this is the first time I heard this song. Honestly rarely am I this much awestruck by a performance. Consider me a fan.
WORD, rooney! it's frikkin crying SHAME that the chameleons were'nt bigger than echo, etc. i don't know who wrote better songs, but i'm POSITIVE mark was/is a better human being than that prick Ian. too bad mark & will couldnt' have played together :-)
this is the price of playing for the love of music and not selling your soul to a commercial record company..:) on Xfactor they/he would be told to go.. and rightly so.. for this is pure music for the awakened pure of heart music lovers, bliss in conception and untouched by commercialism..
mark, you are as inspiring as ian curtis..keeping music alive and out of the mainstream. you and your band have the sacred gene.. dont stop ever! peace and love :)
I grew up listening to Joy Division, the Jesus & Mary Chain and The Chameleons (and much more, obviously). The Chameleons had (and still have) that special place in my soul. Awesome voice, lyrics and guitars. Unfortunately, greatly underrated or unknown by the mass.
They are in my soul, 20+years. This is the most amazing video, I had no idea they could do more with my favorite song ever, and they deliver! Please play this at my funeral.
I love these guys!! Untouchable music!! No band in the world comes close to their guitar melodies, percussion and brilliantly executed nostalgic lyrics!! Forever shall these songs dwell in my thoughts and feelings...haha... I sound emo! BUT hell....you know it's true
also in spain we love them.People used to wait their songs in the club and when the vinyl was on ,all the people came crazy ,dancing, jumping y trying to sing as well ...specially with that precious song
Can anyone explain why U2 continue to make so much money? So sad. Bono with all his pontificating while moving his millions offshore Ireland. Mark Burgess is the balls...should have been a bigger star....better lyrics and just a less "pontificating" Bono type guy....Cheers
this is the best version of second skin, better than album version ,so raw yet not!dave n reg compliment each other on guitars ,and when mark kicks in with his bass ...wow , best band ever ,just makes me so mad that they cant get on with each other. went to see mark play with sun and moon ,the mans a genius. but saying that without reg n dave theres just something missing, this sound is what its all about to me , no fancy heavy rock bollocks just the sweet harmonies of dave n reg , pure music
I had the privilege to sing with them!It was in Berlin Kreuzberg in the late 80's...They played in a club and there were maybe 20 people listening to them...so we had a jam session together...amazing...I will never forget!I'm 45 now!

And this version of the song shows how important Dave and Reginald´s guitars are for the band.
And listen to the end of the vid.
