Just one lifetime is all we have J. Blackfoot and you lived yours well. Your music has touched many and raised the standards for real soul music. Your soulful voice will be truly missed. Another soulful singer has entered into Soul Heaven, and what a time I am sure they are having..... God bless you all that are reading this...... R.I.L. J. Blackfoot
Thank you, J, for all the beautiful music you gave us. I hope my young brothers are taking notes and listening to the instructions you leave behind. Now this how a man is supposed to talk to a lady.
I remember growing up and having to put the radio on WDIA(classics). My mom may she rest in peace loved J. Blackfoot,Johnny Taylor & Shirley Murdock. I am 29 years old and I still listen to old school music. Now you can't find respectable music, I greatly appreciate them for putting this trend out.....

My love has no limits and knows no boundaries & if u should look up 1 of these old days & find there are fewer tomorrows than yesterdays; I don't want u to fingers hands thru your hair, my love will be there. And oh girl, if the years take away yo' figure and leave u disfigured, my love will always be there!
not one of...but the greatest love song ....we he started singing i know tha draws came off before tha song was ova and they were married tha next day l.o.l
"seasons may come and seasons may go but I'm with you come rain, shine, sleet, or snow!" that has to be the very best line I heard in any song period.
A dear friend who is turning into the blood vessels in my heart introduced me to this song. I want to say that he is giving me a message. He says this is his favorite song. I want to make his dream come true, Just one lifetime.
I remember learning this song, growing up...Loved it then cause it was real....love it now...They dont make songs the same anymore....old school is always Cool
This is my mom & dad fav song!! I miss my dad so much. He passed from cancer. Now my mom is all sad and depressed. I wish he was here. I know their love for each other was so strong!! I can't wait to see him again. He was a good man & dad!! :) I can't wait to reunite with him again. Soon we will see each other again :)
I first heard this song back in early 90's my late husband was station at Naval Air Station, Meridian, Mississippi. He would sing it to me all the time. I lost him 8 years ago but it bring back so many wonderful memories of our beautiful love. Our son & daughter both love it. Yes, for those of us who have had and still have that Just One Lifetime Love it's NEVER enough. I thank God for having LOVED a REAL MAN and REAL FATHER. RIP Rev. Stephen E. McCuller
@pettis06 That's so sweet I think this is a true love story. I wish I could find me a man like that. Good luck to you! sorry about your lost and may "OUR GOD" bless and be with U 4-ever.
@pettis06 Thank you and NEVER give up on GOD He's ABLE to do AMAZING things in your life. Seek him and he WILL give you the Desires of your heart. And may GOD bless you as well.

I was hipped to this tune a few years ago, but tuned into WDIA this afternoon, it came on the radio and literally brought tears to my eyes.
When he goes into the Father Time bit, when your fewer tommorrows are fewer than your yesterdayys, and the comfort anfd attention in your older years is affirmed, THATS what kicks my ass in.
I wish our Black culture wasn't so defined by hip hop and the overwhelming majority of cutter-cutter, autotunish tracks with no substance. Will there be in a renaissance in our music that returns it to it's soulful roots in my lifetime ? I sorely hope so.
That's so crazy. I'm 21 and I remember being in the juke joints in Alabama with my dad and his friends. They loved this song. And anything Bobby Womack. lol
Im 27 and I remember being about 9 years old singing this song word for word waiting for my mom to finish washing cloths at the local washers. Memories!!!
@tee82sjp im with u on that..in Louisiana back in 1995 every Sunday was Blues You Can Use all night and me and my sisters would be in the kitchen singing the hell out this song...
my dad in 1974 and he used to tell my mom that when her hair would start to gray, that would be him putting it there and this song reminds me of their love, cuz she has never remarried. r.i.p. lee edward
JUst one lifetime won't be long enough when you have found the right man and he treats you the way a woman suppose to be treated it won't be long enough.
This song was dedicated to me in 1993 all the way from Texarkana, and I was even sent a tape and I ruined it. I have been searching for this song for years. I'm so glad I found it, now I'm waiting for the right moment to stroll back down memory lane. That special time when you can say, remember when.......... to my husband. I thank God too, because when you find that right one it is just one life time.
Thank you! I first heard this song about six months ago and I have been in love with it since then. My wife and I have been married for 21 years and the sond is so fitting. Thanks

These lyrics were written by the incomparable Homer Banks to his wife
Rose. He knew J. so well that he knew
he could deliver the meesage. J. Blackfoot and Queen Ann Hines
delivered Homer's message in this song.
My son and I sang this at my son's wedding.
Love you, J. and Ann
