3:15-3:25 is great because it is an exalent example of scientist recent discovery that tornadoes actualy start on the ground and go UP. Not start in the air and spin DOWN.

It is true that some,but rarely, do spin down.

you actually have a point but this is not absolute. tornadoes are in fact a stream of hot air assending from the ground and being replaced by the cold air above thus creating this "tube". so what happenes in most cases (since you cannot actually "see" the air movement by itself) is that the cold air dessending also drags the clouds along creating the impression that it starts from above and lands in the ground. Good point though :)

That is not how tornadoes form. The rotation comes from the mesocyclone of a supercell in the updraft region of the storm. Eventually the rotation tightens, intensifies, and descends. The funnel is formed when most air is pulled in to the tornado and the pressure drop causes condensation.

I was in a tornado once.

i was only 6 years old, I was visting my grandparents in Kalamazoo, Micheagan.

It hit and looked out the basement window, which i could only see a few inches above the ground, and i saw this huge, thin tornado ripping up the woods by the house.

I think i passed out i was so scared.

It was just tramatizing.
